We visited for tea and were very impressed by the warm welcome and very comfortable house. The hall is more like a home from home with lovely staff and surroundings. People were booking in for weddings or for the week end. The afternoon tea was excellnet and equal to anything we have had in Londons hotels. A hidden gem.

We stayed over last weekend, to celebrate my wife's birthday. Great rooms, with comfortable bed and spacious bathroom. Afternoon tea is a must, as is eating in the restaurant of an evening. The steak and belly pork were both served to perfection. I highly recommend a nightcap in the library, in front of the roaring fire at this time of...

Atended a wedding at the weekend and stayed over in the bluebell room. Could not fault the hotel in any department, the food great, staff great, the fantastic log fires in the hotel reception rooms. Best of all was the bluebell room. If you stay over you have to ask for this room. Over all a great stay and will...

Came for a two night break to celebrate our anniversary. We booked in for dbb and afternoon tea on first day. Pros All the food was excellent, lovely choice, homemade and only improvement would be lighter scrambled eggs at breakfast but that is being picky. Afternoon tea best I've ever had and so much food! Beautiful grounds and lovely walks...

This country house is in a stunning location, surrounded by lovely gardens. Our room looked out over parkland and trees. It was a Georgian room, full of character, with an extremely comfortable four poster bed. I was initially disappointed not to have an ensuite shower, but the roll top bath at the foot of the bed proved such a treat!...

Just a short drive off the A1 but we'll worth it, the setting is fantastic, so picturesque. The rooms were spotless, spacious and high quality. The food was fine dining at night and my wife thoroughly enjoyed it as it's more her thing than mine. The location is very good too with many landmarks only a short drive up the...

Eshott Hall is set in some outstanding surroundings with an interesting produce garden and fruit tress not to mention the beauitifull mature trees and gardens . The main house is a significant building and the decor is extremely nice and of its period. Dinner is of a high standard and the cream tea is very nice. The evening staff are...

Our room was in an "annexe" that turned out to be over 200m from the hotel, along a very badly lit road. The room itself was OK but the stair to it is more like a ladder - way too steep, positively dangerous in fact, especially with a suitcase to carry. The dinner was very poor: extremely over - salted....

Interesting and well appointed hotel in a convenient location ( although last couple of miles a little isolated) which is a well known wedding venue ( understandably). We stayed in the Grange which was fine although shower a bit tricky. Dinner reasonable although a little bit pricey but breakfast excellent. Staff helpful and friendly.
