My husband and I went to Castle Durrow for bed, breakfast and evening dinner. The staff were so friendly and helpful. They can't do enough for you! I'm really looking forward to going there again in the Summer. My daughter had her wedding there last August and we couldn't fault anything. Absolutely brilliant. Would highly recommend!

Lovely hotel, beautiful location, gorgeous food, large bedrooms and a very comfy bed! A stay here is a lovely experience. However, it is the staff that can make or break a hotel experience. In our case Alice and Hannah in Reception could not have done more for us especially when you leave the hotel and realise something was left in...

I have been coming to Castle Durrow for lunch off and on for a few years. On our recent lunch it made me realise what a gem this place really is. The service was slow in the beginning, but it gave me a chance to marvel at the interior and notice the wonderful refurbishment it has undergone. We had the...

Attended a wedding here in early January , mightily impressed with everything, really nice athmosphere and I am always worried about events like these that on-masse service and food can be a let down, I needn't have worried ..I have to say the waiting staff were excellent and they were backed up by a very attentive manageress who came to...

The floorboards in the bedroom were beautiful, warm and inviting and that sums up the overall experience. It is a perfect venue for a group of friends to get together for a night or two. The gardens are worth a visit and this would be a good location for a relaxed business meeting over afternoon tea.

We where passing through Durrow on a recent business trip and we decided to call in to Castle Durrow for lunch. Unfortunately we did not get to see much of the castle as it looked amazing. The reception area is very impressive and the bar / restaurant feels very relaxing. The staff really made us feel welcome and most importantly...

I live in Dublin however this is our go to place for a relaxing break. Beautiful rooms and different on each floor A real treat over Christmas period. The staff all live locally and are happy in their work which shines through in their service. Great food and lovely walks. Just wish they would serve some Italian red wines (...

Stayed for a few days for a friends wedding the week before Christmas. It's a very grand hotel with lovely grounds. The staff were very friendly and hospitable, the food was also very good. We stayed in a deluxe room which was lovely and comfortable. In our room we had our own bath robes and Moton Brown toiletries which a...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Castle Durrow is located in the heart of the village. A fully restored, magnificent 300 year old Mansion with luxurious bedrooms each with their own atmosphere. Our restaurant is located in stunning south-facing rooms, decorated with mirrors and hand blocked wallpaper, our head chef creates delicious seasonal menus, popular with visitors and locals alike. We are a terrific place to relax and let romance and Guinness de-stress the mind and body in our cosy bar and reception rooms. In the Magnificent garden, with fabulous scented borders and a walled garden, from where our chefs pick their daily produce, you can stroll around for hours or have a more vigorous walk by the river and in the hills adjoining the castle. A stay at the castle with Dinner and some romance would not be complete without a beauty treatment in our salon , aptly named the Powder box ! ... more   less
