I'm not sure that I should be writing this because I feel it's a secret I want to keep to myself for fear of it becoming swamped by the hoards... But I am compelled to write a review because it is such an idyllic, small hotel with a fantastic restaurant holding a prized Michelin star. Located on a serene stretch...

We happily discovered De Nederlanden on our way to visit Utrecht. We spent only one evening there, but the experience was magical. The setting on the bank of the River Vecht is indescribably lovely and charming. We will definitely return to spend more time and enjoy the area. The village of Vreeland is very pretty and quiet. Enjoyed drinks before...

Hotel Nederlanden is housed in a beautiful classic building on the side of the river Vecht. We truly enjoyed our three days stay here. We had the pleasure of staying in room 102, high ceiling, classic design, three big windows which gave us a wonderfull view from our bed on boats passing on the river Vecht and the lovely village...

We felt like in honeymoon: everything looked and felt perfect. Location- romantic and cozy, the service, the food, and the attitude. Top quality in everything. I think the restaurant has a Michelin star. Hotel is only 20-30 min drive from Amsterdam.

A fabulous place for dinner. De Nederlanden is a hotel restaurant right on the river. We were welcomed by an attentive staff that was knowledgeable and very polite. The oysters are a must with a twist on the toppings. The food is exceptional but would recommend ordering a variety and sharing so you can taste everything. The pigeon was spectacular,...

I stayed overnight at this hotel with my husband for our anniversary. We were given a beautiful attic room, overlooking the river Vecht, which oozed charm, as does the rest of this lovely old building. The staff were very attentive and breakfast was delicious. I have already written a review of the restaurant, but our visit this time managed to...

We came for one night to celebrate a "big" birthday. Mid week in June the hotel was quiet. There were about 6 couples in the dining room. The location is lovely. We sat on the banks of the canal watching the surprisingly busy waterway and the two bridges being raised and lowered with great efficiency. We started our dinner here...

We stayed here twice once in December when there was snow on the canal banks and now on a sunny summer day. The rooms are nice and well appointed in a luxurious laid back style, a bit romantic but it goes well with the decor. The rooms could use a little sprucing up to make it fresh. Either no TV...
