Our daughter had found this place by mistake a few months ago. We stayed in a cabin for a weekend. The place is a little way out of the town of Same, so the first adventure was arriving by moto-taxi! This is a lovely location, with all the cabins nestling in a jungle setting that opens out onto the cliff...

I showed up to this accommodation expecting the basics, a clean room and clean location with the focus being on getting out to the hotel and onto the beach. I arrived to find a very dirty location, the rooms were full of musty smells (guessing mold), the pool was out of commission and the people who I booked with made...

This place is gorgeous! Just got back from a one-night stay here with friends, we were practically the only people here, and the owners let us stay in a beautiful 8-bed cabin with a balcony and amazing view of the sea for the same price as a 3-bed room! The beach is far enough away from the larger resorts to...

We went end of April and there were only two other families and one couple so the grounds were very quiet. This piece of the beach is very quiet but it is a short walk to a town with hotels and restaurants. Pets are prohibited but the owner allowed us to take our small dog. There are iguanas sunning on...

We stayed here for one night in February. The room was basic however it was inexpensive with an amazing sea view. We would recommend this hotel for the view alone altho make sure you request a seafront room. Pros: The view: our room was on a cliff edge that looked out onto the sea, absolutely beautiful. Mosquito mesh/net instead of...

Acantilado is away enough from the coastal highway to avoid noice and vendors, yet only a short walking distance should you take public transportation. Located in a small vally between hills, it is also a small staircase up from the beach (hence its name "Cliffs"- like the entrance parragraph, this keeps you safe from insisting vendors. The views are stunning...

Just returned to El Acantilado, and can report that it is now as good or better than ever. A beach vacation could not be any better, if you are looking for great swimming, views, rustic comfort, friendly owners and staff (thanks especially to Antonio) and very good food, plus there are small kitchens in most cabins. The ride there is...

I live in Ecuador and visit El Acantilado at least once a year. If you have the chance to get to the coast, this is a great spot. Not chic, which I appreciate, but comfortable with a lovely beach, in walking distance to more populated areas and an assortment of restaurants. However the food there is quite good, and the...

We stayed one night here in the beachy cabins. Resort is rustic, but has necessities. Located on a bluff over the Pacific, giving you a panoramic view that is unique in Ecuador. Lovely secluded beach for swimming, bodysurfing. Food is good if a little overpriced. Pool table and ping-pong as well as foosball to amuse yourself. The beach faces the...
