My husband and I stay here often in our caravan and absolutely love it. The showers are always nice and hot and are cleaned every day and to a high standard. They are always polite and very accomodating. It’s a small but well run organisation. We will be back again for some Salmon fishing at Easter....They also do great summer and even better campsaver fares in winter for the NZMCA members! very relaxed and One of the nicer places we have stayed. Highly recommend!

Had a powered camp site and thankfully it was under the tree as it was HOT. The grass was crackling and the sun was merciless. Dog friendly and well situated next to a public walk that takes you to a cool river. Nearby sports field to watch a bit of cricket. Could do with a bigger washing line, as we all hustled for a spot to hang out our washing. Great amenities. Had a random stray gray, long haired dog that pooped on the lawn and mooched around the campers, but they can't do much about that. It seemed to know who had the steak on the BBQ and lingered around them.

I was very disappointed in the way this camp is run. A lovely wee camping ground, good location to shopping area and great walks and bike tracks along small river close to camp. The owner wants your money not interested in looking after welfare of campers or facilities. She closed camp off over Christmas/New Year when sites were available and disappeared. Showers/toilets not cleaned for at least two days over New Year. The shower I used both days still had empty plastic shampoo container in it. The were no cloths and cleaner to clean surfaces between people using hand basins as I have found in all other camps I’ve stayed at recently in South Island. I’m sure she is not keeping place clean to Covid 19 rules... I’m am sorry to give this bad report as it could be a nice we camp. I ended up leaving with diarrhoea...over New Year ran out of toilet paper and hand wash fluid. Whole time I was their hand drier not in working order. Rubbish bins always full....She does not allow you to clean fish on property nor are you allowed to do hand washing in the public laundry.......so on and so on.....

Checked in at night- it was cold and wet- when we got to our cottage the heat pump was on so the place was nice and warm. Great shower and water pressure! It was quiet when we stayed. I'd stay again. The cottage had a car park space allotted to it but some other car had parked there which was annoying but the Park owners said we could park on the grass in front of the cottage so that made it easy to unpack car etc in the rain.

This is a lovely camp ground, great hot showers and close to the alps to ocean cycle trail. however, we had very noisy people camping in tents next to our caravan who kept their noise going till almost midnight . We mentioned this at the office the next day , but the same thing happened the next night !! Need some control here, as we haven’t encountered this elsewhere. Quiet after 10-30 should mean quiet.
