Other folks have commented on the need for refurbishment, but a few simple things would help. Eg, no aircon in the bedroom but also no nets on the window to provide bug protection to allow you to leave a window open overnight - so you are trapped in a hot stuffy room. Also a great sized bed but an undersized...

Another nice stay at a nice country hotel. Food was great and bed was very comfortable . From the top balcony Mt Cook was quite invisible in the afternoon without the cloud. There is a cat that is quite friendly who welcomes the coach.

Rooms large but very dated. Not very clean. Dirty cup stuck upside down in the cupboard. Bar prices high for quality on offer. Wine probably on the shelf too long. Buffet only in restaurant. Bar food poor.

Our room was clean and tidy so nothing bad to say just a motel for a nights stay. Free wifi if you sit in reception which is a bit behind the times and not very convenient. Staff were friendly and plenty of parking.

Just stayed for a night. Hardly any hotels in twizel and nothing great about it. Average 2-3 star hotel. No variety of food. Not visiting again. Rooms outdated very old. Food not good. Very less staff, there were two boys who were transferring the luggages of all the guest.

Thankfully we only had one night in this place. We were greeted by reluctant Reception chewing on her dinner after debating with her colleague who should serve us. It went downhill from there. The outside looks nice but the inside needs a massive amount of work. A small sign said refurbishment is in progress but not much has been done...

Mackenzie country Inn at Twizel is an average place to stay. You can stay here if there is no other option. I was travelling in a group through Thomas cook and I was told that they have made arrangement in this Inn as there is no other place for a big group in Twizel. The rooms are very spacious and...

Our room was acceptable, beds were clean and comfortable. Bathroom a good size, clean and shower over bath. However, the hotel is definitely in need of refurbishment, it is dated. The reception staff were efficient and helpful and we found the laundry facilities first class, a washing machine and dryer most welcome after a week of travelling! We had a...

Very 70's old fashioned. Poor facilities in the room, no hair dryer, floor in bathroom stained, shower/bath floor stained and hair behind toilet. Bed cover smelled and needed washing. No SKY tv! Internet cost in the room - expensive. Food excellent and staff friendly. Sign in reception said refurbishment happening but greedy owner should not charge premium rates until after...

Twizel is a small, beautiful town in NZ, basically nothing around, but still lovely. The hotel is decent for where it's located, and probably one of the nicer ones around. You only get hot water for 30 minutes a day, which is kind of annoying. The dinner we had in the hotel was absolutely delicious. Wifi is free in the...
