Incredible views from every room. Luxury arriving from the wilderness to a bubble bath and face mask before enjoying, great wine, food and hospitality in front of the open fire. Sue is a fantastic cook and loved the walk up the back with "Roy" the huntaway!

Our visit here was the highlight of our 10 days in New Zealand. The lodge, which is well situated for day hikes in the Lake Wanaka and Mount Aspiring National Park, is beautiful and secluded, high on a hill, with spectacular views of Lake Hawea. There are only four guestrooms, all overlooking the lake, spacious, beautifully appointed in a minimalist... More

After winding up a rather intimidating driveway, we were warmly greeted at Silverpine. Our hosts made us feel welcome to their architecturally amazing lodge. The room has a fabulous view with a very comfortable bed. The food was really good and we loved finishing with our desert in front of the large log fire. The lodge only has four rooms,... More

It was one of the most peaceful, beautifully relaxing places I went to during my 3 week trip in NZ. The views are stunning, the wind howling over the moors like something out of a period novel. I wanted to stay long--wish we had--and will DEFINITELY be going back. Mike and Sue are delightful hosts, amazing chefs, and like visiting... More

Silver Pine Lodge is located near "The Neck" between Lake Hawea and Lake Wanaka. The house is hardly to be seen from the road, but this is really a great place. First of all, there is the view. I cannot remember we stayed at any other place with such a spectacular view during our NZ holiday. Standing on the deck... More

Hosts Sue and Mike were terrific. Silverpine is brand new, basically, and sits on the side of a very high hill twenty to thirty minutes north of Wanaka. The views of Lake Hawea are fabulous and every room has pretty much the same view. The room was very comfortable, large and airy with a small deck and chairs accessible through... More

Let's start with the view. Perched up above Lake Hawea, you have one of the most amazing views in New Zealand and that's saying quite a bit. Mike and Sue are terrific hosts and the food is terrific. Sue puts out a wonderful breakfast and dinners are inventive and quite fresh. She will take special orders and the wine list... More

We were so looking forward to this accommodation but sadly it was lacking something! The great room was cold! The open fire should have been roaring to heat this room and to make us feel welcome but it wasn't! ! The food was ok but not outstanding We felt that the owners were on a tight budget! This wasn't good... More

Beautiful secluded venue high on the side of the mountain overloooking Lake Hawea. Beautiful minimalist rooms. Mike & Sue are a superb team. Mike is the consumate host & great storyteller. Sue is a fabulous, healthy chef. Roy is the smartest, most affectionate dog. Great venue for hiking/helicopter/jet boat tours in adjacent Mt. Aspiring National Park. DO NOT MISS THIS... More

Silverpine Lodge is truly a hidden gem! You can't quite see it from the road, but you can see everything from its perch on the hill between the two lakes. It’s a bit of a diamond in the rough with absolutely phenomenal views! It's almost more of a bed and breakfast than a lodge, as it is very private and... More
