We stayed at the Holiday Park for one night only. However, I could get a good impression. Partly, e.g. where we stayed, the place was very old and not too nice. The door of the room was so unfitting that constantly leaves from trees came inside. However, other parts like the kitchen and toilets/showers were already renovated and renewed and... More

Thank you for your review Niklas. I'm pleased you had a good look around an noticed all the hard work that has been taking place so far. As you will know there is still quite a way to go but we're slowly making progress. It would be great if you could come back some time and see how things have... More

Just checked into this campsite to see this depressing sight - 2 young lambs in a tiny pen bleating away. When asked I was informed their mother had 'died' (nicer word than slaughtered for profit). Each year the site rears 2 young lambs then passes them back to the farm (where they will be slaughtered). Their pen is tiny and... More

Hi Falkirkmale, I'd like to take this opportunity to give you the facts so you don't have to spread mischievous rumours. We have a really good friend who is a farmer. Every year he has some lambs that are abandoned by their mothers and will die if they are not hand-reared (these ewes are not slaughtered for profit as they... More

We (2 adults, 12 and 10 yr old) stayed in a one bed tourist cabin, which was a bit small but was OK. The unit was modern and warm. The Wi-Fi was reliable and playground was loved by our 10 yr old. View was great but had to drive to restaurant for dinner. Overall would stay here again.

Hi Tony, great to hear you enjoyed your stay with us. You left just a couple of days too early. Yesterday we had an orphaned lamb arrive on our doorstep. I bet your 10 yr old would have loved to bottle feed it. Hope to see you again some time in the future. More

Nice site - close to town, great views and easy walking distance to shops and restaurants and the lake front. Great play area for the kids and clean facilities. Didn't charge for toddlers so a powered site cost us $39, which we felt was worth it.

Stayed in one of the Tourist Flats on the 9th and 10th of July for a weekend up the Ski Fields. Quick check-in, the staff member was really helpful with our questions and even gave us vouchers for a Mexican Restaurant in town which was amazing! The accommodation was nice and warm when we arrived, clean and had all that... More

The BBH hostel was booked out and we didn't even bother asking the other hostel, so we went here and pitched our tents for 19nzd per night. It was extremely difficult to put in the tent hooks. Maybe there were other patches of decent grass, but I saw rain clouds moving in and couldn't be bothered. No free wifi. No... More

Hi HarryTheHairyHare, Oh bother..... Rest assured, anyone who asks for a different site will get it (unless we're fully booked of course). On a different note, we are not a hostel and as such don't have hostel facilities (like pots, pans, crockery and cutlery). As we speak, our TV room and all other facilities in our main block are being... More

We visited the WLHP at the end of the season (late April) and found it a bit lacking. The service was lovely, but the facilities all need a coat of paint and an upgrade. It was nice to have the place nearly to ourselves, but that doesn't counteract the place's needs for some improvement.

Stayed on a powered site over the Easter Long Weekend. Great location, easy walking distance to lake and town. Clean amenities block, excellent playground for kids. Even though grounds were full, no noise. Would stay again on a trip to Wanaka.

Easy access to Wanaka itself. Can walk into town in about 10 minutes. Plenty of room and facilities include laundry, car wash, motel, huts, tents etc. Only a quiet rugby pitch in between us and the beach. Beautiful mountain views all around.

Hi ladybrr, I'm pleased you enjoyed the view out to the lake and the mountains. We can't wait for the colder season when a "sprinkling" of snow will change the outlook dramatically. Not long until the autumn colours will be arriving again too. Wanaka is just beautiful all year round. More
