Last Sunday 07-06-2015, along with 24 friends visited the Green and Blue Ocean Lodges Zanzibar. What a place to visit. If you did not visit this place your aim to see Zanzibar is incomplete. Mr. Alios the Manager did a wonderful job to maintain and make this place a really nice visit place. We were little bit unhappy with the...

We really enjoyed the stay in this hotel. The hotel was quiet. Area of the hotel was really nice - many trees and green, etc. The staff was polite and nice. Food was tastefull, we appreciated perfect breakfast, which were served from 7-12 a.m.

We stayed here for two nights and thought the property was well laid out and maintained. Only complaint would be the food. It was mediocre and considering that eating out options were limited the hotel could focus on serving quality meals.

We had a pleasant stay here. The bungalows are very nice, spacious, clean. Though very big windows in the form of shutters do not isolate well against outside noise, or wind, which was a drawback. Locals on the beach outside the resort can sometimes be quite noisy, even in the middle of the night, which woke us up a few...

What a lovely relaxed place Green and Blue Lodge was. My fiance and I just spent 3 nights there in mid January and really felt like we were getting away from it all. Being former Tanzanian lodge managers ourselves these days we have a pretty critical eye and we are pleased to say that G&B measured up quite well! Let...

we booked for a week the beach front villa with private pool and man that was exceptional. The space is amazing, 2 bedrooms, open air living area, amazing amenities, coconut and great food. The chefs were happy to accommodate any dishes popped in our mind. Breakfast was european style but delicious. That was my ultimate favorite hotel in entire island

The gardens at Green and Blue really stand out in my memory; bougainvillea and swaying palm trees and gorgeous vibrant colors everywhere! I could walk around the property in circles just taking pictures and be happy, but then once you reach the beach your heart stops. It's really unbelievable, and completely worth the trip halfway around the world. The swimming...

We enjoyed every second we stayed in this beautiful resort. The villa we stayed in was spacious and comfortable. Meals were excellent. Staff and manager Alois extremely friendly. They made us feel at home. A special thanks to the staff for surprising me on my birthday with a nice birthday cake, a song and a funny dance. When visiting Zanzibar...

We stayed at the green and blue lodge for one night (our trip was cut short for reasons unrelated to the hotel). The hotel is an hours drive from Zanzibar airport, but I guess it takes a while to get to any destination on the east coast of the island. The manager (Alois) was welcoming and offered to upgrade us...

I stayed at Green and Blue in early July 2014. My friends found this location after doing some research on their first trip to Zanzibar (I was there a couple years ago) and I tagged along with them. I had been to Matemwe before so I knew the seaweed and low tide situation and the fact that it's very quiet...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Ocean Lodge GREEN AND BLUE in the northeast of the spice island ofZanzibar is placed so that your gaze wanders over the turquoise waterof the vast bay and rests on the small island of Mnemba. Characterisedby its lush, tropical garden, the Ocean Lodge nestles right on theIndian Ocean, separated from it by a powder-fine, sandy white beach. The lodge forms part of a typical local fishing village. This may appear very simple and basic to our “civilised” eye. Tourists can expect scenes they won’t see anywhere else. ... more   less
