The food at MBV is nothing short of miraculous, and the chef is some sort of magician who is capable of perfecting almost any dish her mind is turned to. Every evening a new dinner menu is offered with a dazzling variety of world dishes. I've seen: lasagne, vegetable soup, Indian curry, chicken stew, Thai wraps, burger and chips, caramel...

This is our second visit to Matemwe Beach Village. The first time we visited was back in 2010 and we absolutely loved it. This time around we revisited with the entire family, including one 5 yr old, one 4 yr old and one 10 month old baby. We stayed here for two weeks in March/April 2017 and once again had...

My husband and I spent the last three nights of our honeymoon here after the most incredible safari in Tanzania and wow was this little gem of a hotel fantastic! We didn't have a huge budget to spend in Zanzibar after our safari but we really didn't need it and I'm so pleased it was here that we finished our...

The rooms and hotel itself were so so. The food however was fantastic! The best we had in Tanzania in fact. The room wasn't overly clean, there wasn't any water pressure (even during the times there was supposed to be), no shampoo in the room and the lobby area was not comfortable to be in. You are also somewhat trapped...

My husband and I stayed here in November with the intention of staying a day or 2, but we received such good service we stayed for 6 nights. As we went slightly out of season we were upgraded to a Suite which was very comfortable and had an upstairs area where we could relax on swinging sun loungers and enjoy...

We booked 4 days at Matemwe Beach Village for the end of our trip in Tanzania (having climbed Kili and gone on safari). It was exactly what we needed! It was really quiet so we could relax and most days we had the pool to ourselves (of which is in a beautiful setting). The staff were very attentive and did...

Having come from an amazing full on Safari in Tanzania we were looking forward to a much needed chill and chill we did, the food at Matemwe is first class with a great choice and good service. I must add the rooms are a little tired and in much need of some TLC however, this did not mare our stay...

This place is great. My wife and I spent three nights of our honeymoon here, enjoying the sun, waves, and sand. And pool. We have not been to many more relaxing places. The beach has perfect white, powdery sand, and there is a great pool for low-tide times. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Abraham made sure we were taken...

We stayed in August 2016 following a safari. The location is fabulous right on a wide sandy beach, although you cannot swim in the sea at low tide due to the numerous sea urchins. It’s a place to simply unwind and relax. The other great thing was the food which was simply wonderful – always freshly prepared and first class...
