Excellent budget hotel. Clean, comfortable room and decently priced breakfast. Easy to get into the city but hotel just off the A75 and really easy for break on journey south. Restaurant next door looked good but we went into town.

Akena City is located on the outskirts of the historic centre of Pezenas. The hotel itself are plain with nice rooms and a nice breakfast possibility. Yoiu need a car or a bike to get to the old city centre, so the location is not too good. The hotel is situated in an industry-area.

We needed somewhere to stay en route to Spain and came across the illuminated sign for this hotel. Was surprised to find that upon arrival you just checked in via a terminal to find availability and selected your room and breakfast requirements, a very easy process. Foyer and common areas spotlessly clean as was the room. We (family of 4) enjoyed a lovely sleep and a good shower in the evening and morning. Went down for breakfast and again enjoyed a good full breakfast which was very good value at a little over 6€ per person. Yes this is a budget/functional hotel but it does it job perfectly would recommend staying here without hesitation and will look out for other B&B hotels when travelling in France and Spain.

We have stayed at this hotel on several occasions. The value for money is exceptional. Plenty of secure parking. The hotel is clean and comfortable. Our room had spotlessly clean linen and towels and a wonderfully powerful shower.
The bed was comfortable and we had a good night's sleep.
Breakfast is a plentiful buffet. Coffee, tea, croissants, toast, yoghurts, cereals, eggs, bacon, choice of fruit juices, baguettes, preserves, honey, chocolate spread
Everything spotlessly clean and pleasant.
Staff are always polite and helpful and speak a little English - always handy when your French is limited.
We never bother looking anywhere else when we stay for short periods. We always know that we will be satisfied with our stay here.

The manager of this hotel has a rude, arrogant and violent manner. Also, he did not help us with the cot of the baby and told us that he did not know how to use it. When I talked with him in English he say he did not speak English, which is unbelievable for someone working in a hotel. Terrible experience.

Basic, way out of town on an industrial estate and the receptionist needs training in customer service, and learn how to be less abrupt and smile a bit.
The "bathroom" was something out of a cross channel ferry. Sort of bolted onto the room as an afterthought.
Bed was enormous and it has to be said, confortable.

The best I can say about the hotel is that it is quirky.
It appears to have been decorated and furnished by someone who has had access to the props department of many old theatres. It is a confusion of tastes and styles thrown together for no other obvious reason than eccentricity. We did have private parking as advertised for 6 euros thigh as it was the small garage adjoining it could only accommodate 1 car.
English is not spoken here at all though the owner managed to convey to us that the hotel was " having work done" by pointing at areas in various states of repair/refurbishment as we were shown to our room,my wife used the stairs,I used the lift , both of us of average build, could not fit in.
The room was very tired and retained the eccentricity of the rest of the hotel the bathroom was just about useable.
Breakfast was particularly functional.
In good conscience I cannot recommend the hotel other than to say it is close to the centre of the old town.

For a budget hotel we thought this was very impressive, Everything was as it should be, the bed was comfortable and the room was fairly spacious and clean. We didn't eat there so can't comment on the food
