Whilst the skiing is great in Flaine, the town itself is not the most attractive...all Bauhaus style architecture. Think concrete box. That being said, the Hameau offers lots of very attractive chalet style accommodation across a range of sizes and budgets. It also happens to have the best restaurant in Flaine at its centre. Get the cheese fondue, meat stone,...

This week we stayed in chalet #9 in Le Hameau in Flaine France. It was a very nice chalet, but just a bit outdated. The bathroom had fungus, and the beds were very dusty. The kitchen was very small. The boiler only heats the water at night, so after a few showers we ran out of hot water. So taking...

The chalet is so nice and the view is stunning especially when it is all cover with snow. Most of the ski resort in France is self service means no foods and no housekeeping. We have to collect all the bedsheet and covers and put it ourself and have to drive out to get food. Same goes to Flument, Megeve...

Ticks the boxes, Back to basics. Always ski 6000ft resort level with nearest access Geneva one hour add 15mins for poor conditions. Norwegian design 500m above Flaine. Lovely restaurant and ski hire in the village. Free bus service to lifts and taxi service at nights.

Thought I'd take the time to write this review of the chalet we stayed in when we recently visited Flaine. It was one of the chalets in the Chalets Hameau de Flaine which is a medium sized group of modern and very nice looking chalets that overlooks the valley and ski resort. We chose to hire a car and drive...

Hameau de Flaine Chalets were excellent. Views were spectacular, but a bit of a trek to the slopes. Flaine itself is quite small, but very expensive( as you would expect from a ski resort). The slopes were excellent as were lifts etc. All in all...not cheap, but a nice place toski for all levels

Great location, we could not ski in and out as there was not enough snow however the bus takes you to the slopes in a few minutes. Lovely views over the mountains. Hameau is a pretty clapperboard hamlet of chalets.

Just back from a week in this chalet booked as a last minute 2nd ski holiday. I have to say that we (group of 3 couples) wer a little worried having only paid £250 each. I will start by saying the accomodation is all you would ever need even if it looks a little dated. You do have to get...

Just got back from a week in Flaine (5th Feb 11) and while the conditions are pretty poor, the accommodation at Chalet Hameau was pretty darn good. The Flaine rep team of Chalet Host Tommy, and reps James, Chris and Charlie (or, if you prefer Chef, Baby Smurf, Speedy Smurf and Tarquin) are all great fun to hang around with...

We stayed at the Neilson chalet 81 in the Hameau. Tommy our chalet host was brilliant, a fabulous cook, had great local knowledge although he'd only been there a short time himself, and went out of his way to make our holiday great. The Hameau itself is a bit remote and the local bar is extortionate (€8 pint) but the...
