Simply put this was one of those perfect stays. Start with the hosts. Donatella and Simon, who were friendly, gracious and caring, sincerely caring, We got in a little later than we expected. My wife and I have health problems and can get up later than we think we will, move more slowly than we think we will, drive more slowly because the roads and drivers are more difficult than we anticipate and sometimes stay longer at attractions than we plan as they are bigger or better or both than we had thought they would be. That's the reality of our travel experience. Indeed, on this trip we saw perhaps a third of what I had planned for a whole variety of reasons including the fact that not all, in fact many of our lodging stays had problems, sometimes disastrous ones, which makes our experience at te White Lilac all the more satisfying and appreciated. They haf planned to go out and we got there maybe an hour before we got in and then between helping us with the endless luggage and bags we had up the stairs because they upgraded us to a bigger rooms when they saw what we had and listening to some of my tales of woe, they were, again , gracious enough to welcome us in a humane fashion. The room was lovely and large and comfortable. No complaints. Everything miraculously worked and worked well, no small feat apparently these days. Breakfast was very good. When Simon came to help us take our stuff I told him it takes us hours to get out of hotels and he cared enough to say "Maybe we ought to stay a month somewhere." I told him we had thought about a trip with just a few stops of at least a week to a month, but the questions always comes up to where. The only place I could spend a month in and not be totally bored would be Rome, but we have already spent six weeks there by the time we had gotten to his place. Paris is another place, but we have already spent 3 weeks there. We talked about using smaller cities as hubs and then driving back and forth each day, but that makes for a lot of extra driving and can be more exhausting than changing hotels. And what happens when neither of us have the energy to drive back at the end of the day and everything we have is in a hotel an hour or more away. Travel for us is complicated and if it wasn't so necessary to our happiness and sanity, I don't think we would bother, I explained. Not every problem has an easy answer, although I keep making each successive trip easier and the next one, if there is one, will be easier still. I told him that if there were another stay at his B&B, that would definitely be longer even though it is a small town and not much to do there. We could be lazy there and still have a wonderful time and I can say that for only a relatively small number of places. In fact, if I come back it will not be because I want to see Arona. If I come back, it is because I want to stay at the White Lilac.

An incomparable romantic atmosphere! Very friendly and pleasant hosts and staff. The place is surrounded by greenery, everything is perfectly clean and tidy. Delicious and rich breakfasts. Simply ideal conditions for a good rest.
If you like walking, there are historical, cultural and religious sites nearby. The villa has its own swimming pool, 5-6 parking spaces. Each vacationer is given a remote control to open the gate.
Most of all, perhaps, the design and atmosphere of the rooms amazes. They have something reminiscent of a house in the village, a pastoral and romantic atmosphere. The rooms are decorated comfortably and tastefully. Breakfasts are served in the gazebo, glass pavilion, in a corner where there are several tables and in the dining room located on the ground floor.
The breakfasts that the sweetest Sonya prepares right before your eyes are 80% made from local produce: honey, yoghurts, cheeses and much more are supplied by local farmers.
Just a few meters from the gate there is a bus stop from which you can get to Arona.
This wonderful place is run by a very nice, polite and friendly couple, Donatella and Simon.
Vacation in White Lilac, it's a rest without worries and troubles. A fabulous place!

Even prior to arrival, the owner had been in touch to provide assistance with our booking, travel and arrival. The welcome we received from everyone was wonderful. The hotel is absolutely charming, thoughtfully equipped and decorated to a very high standard. The breakfasts were a delight. The garden and pool a joy and the scenery stunning. One thing to note is that although local bars and restaurants were within walking distance, the road was steep with no path and therefore potentially challenging for anyone with limited mobility. Nothing was too much trouble and we had a really lovely stay - thank you so much to all concerned.

The view from White Lilac is stunning. Although pretty much fogged in we still got the picture! The accommodation is beautiful and huge with a separate sitting room/lounge where we can work comfortably. The bathroom is also big but the shower is a little hard to maneuver in.
We enjoy a lovely brekkie.
The sun would make a huge difference here but, even in the clouds, the property is just gorgeous and we’d stay again at any opportunity.

All the correspondence before arrival was handled efficiently by Donatella. On arrival we were greeted very warmly by her. Our first room - the apartment was huge. Lovely large bedroom, kitchen, two shower rooms and a totally separate bedroom up stairs. Perfect for a family. Our second room was equally as nice with a comfortable bed and well appointed bathroom.
Simon, Donatella and Manuela were the best hosts we have ever had. Their breakfast was delicious with freshly squeezed orange juice, freshly made eggs, excellent coffee with locally sourced jams, meats and yoghurts. Any request was happily accepted and executed. Simon's suggestions for day trips were excellent. Ensure you read his Trip-Pik website before going - gives excellent recommendations. White lilac is about 10 mins away from Arona where there is a varied choice of restaurants. A car is advisable. I would highly recommend staying here if you are visiting Lake Maggiore.

Booked same day as stay, last minute break, looking for something nice, clean, and spacious, and we found it, its about a 3 minute drive from from the famous statue of S Carlo. We enjoyed our short stay with them, and also serving an all round breakfast, we enjoyed our scrambled eggs very much. We would like to visit more of the lakes and enjoyed Largo D'Orta as they suggested the beautiful lakeside walk. We would like to return, Oh and they have private parking.

My wife and I stayed for 5 days at the White Lilac. The room we had (Albalux) was fantastic - modern, very quiet, spacious, bed was very comfortable.
Breakfast was high quality with a great variety of items to try (and each day with a little „special“ like nice sandwiches or cake).
The host, Donatella, was super helpful and friendly.
Note: as the B&B is located somewhat outside of Arona, you will have to go by car for dinner (which is no problem as parking is easily available at the train station of Arona)
If we come to the Lago Maggiore again, we would definitely stay at the White Lilac again - we did not find the time to really enjoy the lovely garden and the pool, so this is something to look forward to next time :)
