I wouldn't recommend this hotel they wouldn't allow access to the bathroom because we weren't guests, despite ordering drinks. Go anywhere else but here! much more friendly bars in Arona. Never experienced this before and so unnecessary.
Just returned from a family holiday at Lago Maggiore. Was with a Maltese group. The Hotel is ideal, centrally located, easy to reach, being adjacent to a train station and the rooms are spacious. We had a corner room wherein we were with our kids. We had a separate room from the kids. Well light by natural sunshine, which we experienced during our stay. The rooms were kept clean and regular change if towels. The building needs an uplift, however still well kept. We had a half board package. The food was exquisite and abundant. We had 3 course meal daily, with water supply during the meal, at request. The staff are polite and their hospitality is abundant.
This is a no-frills hotel, but well-located & friendly staff. We got a king bed, lake view room for €105. Booked on arrival as the hotel we previously booked apparently shut down & didn’t bother to let us know. Breakfast included which was nice, but not great. Lots of cereal & pastry options, but when I asked for the meat & cheese they were not generous. Tiny amount of mortadella & one slice of salami to go with 4 small pieces of cheese. Overall would stay again, but would check out other hotels in the area first.
By no stretch of the imagination can this hotel be considered 4 star. Not even 3 star. Walls in bedroom are so thin that you can hear everything that the people next door say. The worst hotel we have ever stayed in. The only good points are the location and the very friendly staff. Bathroom hardly ever cleaned in a week. In desperate need of a refurbishment. At breakfast one has to queue for 15 mins to get some hot water for tea or coffee
the Hotel is quite old but clean and comfortable. we had a double room which was quite roomy and well fitted out. It's position, right on the corner of Lago Maggiore, and directly opposite the Rail Sttation suited our holiday plans, as we were going to use the Rail Systems for getting around Europe and getting to Bergen in Norway where we were going to get on a cruise. From the hotel we could walk to the Ferry Terminal to get a ride to Stresa which is a 20 Minute trip and there, enjoy the splendor of most of the Majestic Hotels in the town. we walked down to the cable car Station were we went to the the top of the mountain (Motterone) and enjoyed lunch, magnificent views of Stresa below and the lake that finishes at Locarno, in Switzerland. You can also see Milano from up there which is 60klm away. We then took a Bus back to Arona where we were dropped off right outside the Atlantic Hotel. The Hotel also features a garden Restaurant on the top floor were you can enjoy the local cusine. Arona has a selection of cafes and restaurants all along the promenade around the lake and is popular for the Milanese people who want to getaway from the city. It was the location of the Hotel that decided where we were going to stay. I can highly reccomend it. …
We stayed in the Atlantic Hotel for our Easter Holiday. The Hotel is located in a great position in the beautiful town of Arona, just a stone away from the promenade. The stuff is really friendly and ready to help you. The breakfast was very good with a lot of sweets to choose from and the dinner was excellent. The room was basic but very functional and clean. Overall we enjoyed our stay in this hotel so I would be recommended to everyone who wishes to spend a holiday in Arona Italy.
To sum up: Not even close to 4 stars, thin walls between rooms, uncomfortable bed, dated interior, dirty rooms. The only plus about this hotel I can think of is a nice location, and most if the staff is friendly. I cant even see how this was a 4 star hotel even when new. And for the price they charge you expect alot better. The rooms have very noisy ventilation system, uncomfortable/cheap beds and when the rooms close to you shower the pipes make so much noise you will not be able to sleep or you wake up if you planned to sleep in. The bathroom is cramped and worn out. I even saw some insects. The cleaning lady is friendly but the room is very dirty with dust everywhere. I felt my room stayed cleaner when I had the «do not disturb» sign up. I am sure you can find better value and better hotels in this area. …
Great location for the station and a short walk along the promenade to some nice restaurants. However very dated and a definite feel of the 1960’s. The air conditioning unit in the room had a continually high pitched buzz which was irritating when trying to sleep.
I'm rating this hotel as 'poor' due to expectations. Its supposed to be a 4 star hotel right? Yeah i think they need to update that. Furniture in the hotel and the rooms are so out dated. The shower in our room was tiny and you could barely mive in it. We had a set menu for the whole week. The food, well something to fill your gap i guess nothing special. The waiting staff are very nice and good with people. One of my main complaints are the strange maids. They always moved around our stuff in the room and i'm not pointing fingers but we lost a watch in the room and i have a feeling that one of them took it while we were out on the last day. It was a real bummer.
I first stayed in Atlantic in Nov-Dec of 2017 and liked it so much that when I decided to holiday with my family I had absolutely no doubt where to stay in Arona. Atlantic maybe a dated hotel but it is well maintained. The staff is extremely helpful, the rooms are spacious enough and clean and the air-conditioning effective. It is located conveniently within a couple of minutes of walking distance of the Arona railway station and the lake is right next to it. The lake facing rooms have an awesome view. The food is good and the bar has some wonderful cocktails up its sleeve.
