Fantastic pictures of this hotel in the nice baroque town of Modica.....but very disappointed by the room, absolutely terrible lightning, the bathroom extremely small, terrible lighting above the little sink, impossible to make up in the bathroom, stagnating water in the sink there every time we used it. Window drapes grey though obviously they were initially white. Not extremely clean...

Enchanting place to stay. Full of character, history and atmosphere. If you want a taste of the grand old life, it's a must. The staff couldn't be more helpful and the hotel's restaurant serves some of the best food I've eaten anywhere in the world. A real treat.

Stayed there recently for two nights. Good (if somewhat dark) single room. Nice attentive staff and good tv - sky news for English speakers was very welcome. Excellent breakfast spread. The dining room was closed both evenings but there is an excellent (associated) restaurant 100 m away.

We were just one night in this beautiful hotel. It's a real old palazzo in the southern Sicilia. Old antic furniture, a lot of small palazzo details. Very good service! Incredible low prices for this level.

Renovated and converted family palazzo becomes a genteel hotel with modern conveniences and historic charm. It is lovely. The breakfast is high quality and with many options. Breakfast is a beautiful presentation in a light filled room. The furnishings in the rooms and public areas are quality pieces that match the era of the hotel. Staff is tuned in to...

This hotel is set in a former nobleman's mansion in the upper section of the Baroque city of Modica. As one would expect, the property itself is exquisite, without being over-the-top. The best way to describe its ambience is that of "dignified yet faded grandeur", in our humble opinion. Our room on the 5th floor, which we were upgraded to,...

The staff were the most helpful and accommodating I've experienced in a long long time. The room was spacious and very comfortable. Their attached restaurant was very good and very popular with locals. The local area is friendly and pleasant to sit out of an evening (even in November).

We stayed here for one night but wished we could have stayed longer. It is a lovely building in the upper part of the town of Modica. The roads are narrow and parking places seemed non-existant but the hotel staff took our car away and parked it in their garage for us. The reception staff were helpful and extremely knowledgeable...

The facilities aren't the best but if you are in for a more classic palace style hotel, this is a remarkable experience. The rooms in the main building are with high ceilings and well decorated in the style of the town.

We stayed at the hotel at the last minute...we had left our previous place a night early...enough said! This hotel was extraordinary: the staff, the rooms, everything. And their restaurant, La Locanda, I can't recommend it highly enough. We wished we could have stayed longer! Go there if you're staying in Modica

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Palazzo Failla Hotel is a four star hotel, located in a beautiful XVIII century building, not an unusual example in Modica indeed, which has been perfectly restored thanks to local skilled craftsmen. The Faillas, showing the typical hospitality of their land, decided to open their house to their guests. The moment you enter, you can feel a fascinating atmosphere given by the light scent of the ancient stone walls and the pitch stone floor, typical of this area. The exclusive furniture and refined decorations will give the final touch to an unforgettable stay. Palazzo Failla Hotel is located in Modica Alta, in Via Blandini, near two of the most beautiful architectural examples in Modica, such as St. George's Cathedral and the Earls' Castle. It's an ideal starting point to visit both Modica and the whole area ... more   less
