Beautiful facility with gorgeous views. The (small) castle is lovely with antique furniture that really gives it a very authentic old castle feel. The tower offers an incredible view of the beautiful countryside. We stayed in the small "apartment", which was very private and decorated...More

Yes, we made a lot of day trips. Florence is a wonderful place to see which can easily be reached by train or car. They have tours to get you to the head of the lines and learn all about the history and art. Or you can just wander around in awe all on your own. Don't miss the Ponte Vecchio or, of course, David. We also visited Assisi and San Gimignano which is quite an adorable little town. It is only a two hour drive to the amazing leaning tower of Pisa. (get your entrance tickets ahead of time) Siena is very nearby and had the best souvenir shopping we found in Italy. Everyone at the castle is very helpful and would have recommendations as well. Enjoy your trip!
