We found the herdade while we were looking for another place -- and decided to stop to check it out. We were greeted by the smiling and knowledgable Ana who made our visit very special. While there, we toured the quejaria, the distillery and we got to help milk the sheep(!!!) The products that are produced on the herdade are...

The house is located in a very beautiful landscape. Very nice rooms, very friendly hosts and nice to see so many animals and plants/trees in the farm. The breakfast was wonderful. I loved the nice selection of home made bread, cakes cheeses and marmeladas. Excellent experience 😊.

The place is surrounded by nature and hiking tracks where it is possible to spend valuable moments of pure leisure and harmony with nature. We have the opportunity to enjoy the company of farm animals. We can visit the distillery and the small scale cheese factory (a must!!). The premises are cosy and the staff is nice, but the feeling...

I have been in Herdade da Amendoira more than once and each time has been a great experience. The combination of fantastic atmosphere, lovely landscapes and good food makes of this farm an amazing destination where to spend some relaxing days and enjoy the natural beauty of Alentejo. The bedrooms are cosy, very clean, well decorated. There is a nice...

If you get to visit Arraiolos, in the inner part of the Alentejo region (Portugal), 125 km from Lisbon, in order to see the castle and how the famous Arraiolo rugs are made, do enjoy a night or two (especially during summertime) at Herdade da Amendoeira, located at 10 km away (more or less 6 miles) away from Arraiolos. You...

Large bedroom and bathroom with private sitting room; air conditioning; extra pillows in the wardrobe; our only quibble was that there were only 2 clothes hangers but we were, unfortunately, only there for 1 night. Rita is amazingly helpful, she directed us to an excellent restaurant in Arraiolos and have a voucher so that we received a 20% discount of...

We didn't stay overnight, but we did come for a tour and cheese tasting. Rita was the perfect host. She's very passionate about the farm and its success and gave a very interesting tour. The cheese tasting was delicious, made even more so by the huge array of homemade preserves. All of this was served in the cavernous dining room...
