The hotel rooms and grounds were immaculate as were the gardens. Service was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was adequate in view of the room prices. We didn't eat dinner at the hotel because there were few other guests and we felt lost in the huge restaurant. The hotel is about 800 m from the centre of Belmonte but it is...

We called in on our trip around Portugal and found the hotel to be loverly. The gentleman behind the desk provided us with all the information which we needed and more. Our room, although not modern, was extremely clean and comfortable. We had both dinner and breakfast there, and both were fine. I certainly wouldn't say that this was fantastic...

Having struck out finding lodging in Belmonte, we "settled for" the Belsol, which appears formal and "corporate" at first sight. It's anything but! Family run, clean rooms with a fabulous terrace facing the gorgeous front gardens. Fast, friendly, personal service (couldn't get the AC to function and the main desk man--owner?--trotted right up to help). The hotel restaurant (food, wine,...

The breakfast is tasty and filling. And if you want to tay in the hotel, taste the Chef's proposals - Roasted lamb, Roasted Cod. It's traditional...

This is a family run hotel at the foot of the hill near Belmonte. The owner is on the premises at all times and is very friendly and helpful. We arrived by train very late and very hungry and he gladly made us some sandwiches and tea. He and his son were very helpful in transportation arrangements and advice. The...
