This small hotel has beautiful architecture and set at the entrance of Belmonte. The rooms are very large. The bathrooms are spacious. The view is gorgeous. People who enjoy hard mattresses will feel at home. They also make efforts to accommodate kosher guests. Well worth the visit to the hotel and belmonte.
This is a well located hotel for touring Bemonte and the surrounding castle towns of Portugal's Eastern Beira region. It's a clean, well managed property with spacious rooms and balcony views of the region's hilly environs. The staff is very friendly and attentive - truly appreciated their suggestions where to visit for stunning scenery and historic surroundings. Solid food as well - tasty, unpretentious cooking with a kosher kitchen catering to Belmonte's growing number of Jewish and Israeli visitors. If there's anything worth nitpicking it would be softer bed mattresses, otherwise excellent stay.
The cooking is far from the tipical Portuguese style. Goat ribs seasoned with honey might be international cooking but, really far away from the regional style. It is an international cooking restaurant if you like
The staff of the Belmonte Sinai were very kind and helpful. We arrived famished and they opened the kitchen and made us some soup even though it was not yet the dining hour. The Belmonte Sinai has a kosher kitchen and is able to accommodate the needs of observant Jews. But it is also great place to stay for secular travelers. The views from the hotel windows are beautiful. Belmonte appears to be shrinking, so you may need to rely on this hotel for dinner as some of the restaurants in town have closed up.
I have stayed at this hotel many many times and really cannot fault it . the service is incredible and the staff are so friendly and accommodating period the rooms are comfortable and the air conditioning is absolutely incredible . the shower is extremely Powerful! The only gripe I have with it as do many with the groups I bring with is that the beds are not that comfortable. Although I am told by the manager that the hotel is due to be extended this December and that all the rooms will be fitted with new beds. Keep up the good work. #Lovethishotel
