The hotel’s gardens and public areas are nice. However, the room was the most basic one I have stayed in years! And for €200 for a basic doble matromonial, I felt it was super overpriced. Besides, there is NOTHING to do in Chinchón. Seriously, nothing. Specially in winter. You go for a drink, eat some tapas (because I didn’t want to wait until 9PM when most restaurants open for dinner, go for a short meal walk, and back to the hotel. Tip: better stay in Aranjuez!
Located in an old convent, with great social areas and spacious rooms. The parador is ideal for a stop around Madrid. Parking around the corner if needed. Just off the main Plaza, where restaurants and shops are available. Great experience, good service and nice food.
The hotel is typical of its type. Tiled floors, minimalist rooms but with an interesting history and nice grounds. We were here during the whole Covid debacle and as a result the hotel was limiting numbers by the pool. The pool opened at 11.am and as check out was at 12 noon we checked out at 11:00am and then headed to have a swim. However despite there being only One (yes one) other person by the pool and 31 (yes31) unused beds we were told we couldn’t have a quick swim because we had checked out. We only wanted to stay for 30 minutes. There was no leeway, no attempt at compromise. So we left. Still only one person by the pool. This is a classic example of not empowering staff to use their judgement and blindly following rules. We won’t be back. Ever.
Would struggle to find anything to grumble about this parador. Superb room, quiet, comfy bed, linen that you want to take home, excellent restaurant, lovely decor, charming old building full of character, atmosphere ++, both inside the parador and in the small town. Nothing was too much trouble for the superb staff at this Parador, and any queries were answered with the most wonderful manner and smiles. Not sure we have ever stayed at a venue where every staff member has been THIS good. Being so near to Madrid it is easy to understand why it is so popular. However try to find a date when the prices coincide with your budget..as prices go up the busier it is! Popular for weddings, though when you see the location and grounds, it almost makes you tempted to tie the knot again! We arrived prior to a very busy weekend with a Medieval market, and staff members had done everything to make sure that guests could find the garage parking. Pity we couldn’t stay longer - ( fully booked!!!!). Probably our favourite parador to date. …
Perfect to spend a weekend due to its location near Madrid. The cozy room, the beautiful building and the excellent service provides a brat experience. Right next to Plaza Mayor with very good atmosphere and plenty of restaurants. Cinchon is a small town but if you want to spend another night you can visit Aranjuez, half an hour away.
