They very kindly provided us with vegan options for breakfast, went out of their way to ensure they had sufficient choices for us and always served with a smile.
The location of the hotel is perfect, 5 minute walk from the seafront and 20 minute walk to the town centre.
The B&B is clean and really well maintained. Rooms are decent size and well appointed. The breakfast was great, with lots of variety, from a daily fruit salad and cereals, to a full English breakfast.
The location is a short 15 minute walk to Budleigh Salterton.
The proprietor, Brian, couldn’t do enough to ensure our stay was nothing short of fantastic, so thank you, we will be back !!
It was well worth the effort as neither the Long Range Hotel & its famous welcome nor Budleigh Salterton had changed a bit.
This year Lorraine, Brian and the team had increased the breakfast by a notch, aided by Dave the Chef and Jill the lovely serving lady, making it the talking point of the guests every morning.
We enjoyed the usual large choice for the full English, further refined by a full table service and tasty options such as the Devon Rarebit and a wholesome fruit salad of strawberries, melon & the whole gamut of fresh fruits topped with a delicious creamy plain yogurt.
I even sampled a tasty poached pear freshly picked from the garden.
This kept me going the entire day.
All the other guests were so cheerful and happy that I am sure their stay at the Long Range with Lorraine and Brian was as successful as mine was.
Pack an eye mask if visiting in summer, as the curtains aren’t very thick, but it’s a very quiet place. The shower takes a while to warm up but persist as it does get there after a few minutes!
Overall a lovely place from which to explore the area (including the beavers on the Otter which we were lucky enough to see).
One of the day was raining, spent the morning in the lounge and conservatory. Brian came around to everyone asking if they would like Coffee or Tea which was a bonus.
We would not hesitate to give the Long Range Hotel our recommendation.
The location was quiet ie no traffic noise. I walked there and back to the coast every day then again to the town for dinner. This was not a problem for my 68 year old legs. I look forward to a return visit.
Brian, Lorraine and their staff were all great.
Breakfasts were served at table and were piping hot. The bacon was delicious.
We had a lovely time.
Brian, please stock up on the Goslings :-)
"The hotel is in a residential road so it is in a quiet location. I believe there are ground floor rooms for the less mobile."Read full review
