We were delighted with our choice of the Ashcroft Guest House - the location was wonderful for visiting Hadrian's Wall, the room was very comfortable, breakfasts were delicious and you could not have asked for kinder or more helpful hosts. The grounds were lovely, with beautiful plants and flowers - really special. We would love to go back again soon.

We arrived as wet cyclists, but Graham and Christine gave us a very warm welcome, putting our cycles into dry secure storage, and discussing where we might have dinner. Very comfortable bedroom, and a beautiful dining room. Excelleet breakfast. A stroll round the garden is worthwhile.

I have no hesitation in recommending the Ashcroft. A first class Guest House with first class proprietors. We stayed for two nights and splurged on room #10 because of the huge claw-foot bathtub, the King size bed and the superb natural lighting. The breakfasts were prepared on request, very good quality and delicious. Geoff & Christine are operating a wonderful...

We stayed 2 nights at Ashcroft Guest House to visit the Hadrian Wall. We are a family with 2 children and stayed in the family room. We travelled by train. The guest house is perfectly situated from station and to go to shop/pub in town, while not noisy. It is situated in a calm street. The family room consists of...
