We stayed here on the 4th night of our Hadrian's Wall walk. The hosts are welcoming and will go out of their way to help you, including ferrying you to and from the closest bus stop on the Hadrian's Wall tour route. The rooms are simply furnished and very clean. The farm has a licensed restaurant which serves tasty local...

What a great place to stay and so friendly. We fell into the bar after walking 14 miles of hills in blistering heat (having been picked up from 'the wall') and enjoyed some locally brewed real ale. They serve it chilled but if you ask will get you one at room temp. The service is prompt and friendly, the dog...

If you are walking Hadrians wall you MUST arrange to be collected from the trail at the end of your day and also be taken back there in the morning . It is a long walk from the trail, and we made the mistake of walking it. Saughy Rigg offer a transport service, and it is done with such good...

Strongly recommend this as best place to stay near Steel Rigg, for example for those walking Hadrian's Wall. The owners and staff were very welcoming, the food is good, the accommodation comfortable and there is a licensed bar. It's a slightly long walk from the Wall, but the manager was very flexible in ferrying us and others around as required.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Great stuff. They even ran me back to the Trail next day [it's about a...

Stayed here while walking Hadrian's Wall and it was just what we needed after a long days walking. Sean gave us a very warm welcome and it was good to get a nice cold beer offered when we arrived as it was very hot walking. All the staff were so good and made us really welcome. The food we had...

We didn't stay here but were ferried here from a neighbouring farm by Sean, which was certainly no trouble for him. Surrounding were great, food fantastic, best Mushroom Risotto I have ever had, service brilliant, a perfect end to what had been a tiring hot day. Would love to revisit when we have more time to enjoy. If I could...

Slightly off track from hadrians wall but was aware of this when booking. Spacious room with tea/coffee making facilities. Amazing restaurant!! Was dubious at start as I am a fussy eater and didn't like anything, so tried the chicken and leek pie! Was delicious :) and had a yummy pudding as well. Had 2 Norwegian ladies staying the same night,...

After a long day of walking you couldn't desire anything else better of the Saughy Rigg Farm. We were 12 people and we all find extremely good with Sean and his wife running this wonderful b&b! The rooms are clean, comfortable and well furnished. We find the kitchen excellent, all the dishes were made with local food and the service...
