Four years after our first trip, I returned solo to this lovely B&B for a second trip to the Wall. Still highly recommend Chare Close, second to none for hospitality and graciousness! Rooms are clean and comfortable. Food was great, and abundant! Felt like an invited guest rather than a paying customer. Perfect location in this lovely village. No need...

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. (we've just celebrated number 3 - it won't let me put earlier than June 2013 so really, really late in posting this!) We were lucky enough to have the place to ourselves and we couldn't have felt more relaxed or welcome - right down to...

Excellent spot to stay in Haltwhistle. Very good room. Nick is a super host. Very helpful. Made use of his library of books concerning Hadrian's Wall and the area. Very useful for planning. Directed us to the Black Bull for an evening meal. Very good spot. Excellent breakfast in the morning. Will be returning!

We've only crashed at this b&b for one night. Didn't even have breakfast as we had to leave early in the morning for work. Room was spacious and nicely decorated. Really comfy bed with lots of pillows so 5 stars in my eyes!! Owners are lovely and the lady was up at 6am for us, gave us lots of bananas...

We stayed either side of a charity challenge walk on Hadrians Wall, Netti & Nick were great to us on our arrival and so caring of us doing the walk. Nothing was too much trouble for them, lending us poles and umbrella for the whole weekend. We loved our stay in Haltwistle and would certainly stay at Chare Close again....

Can't add much that hasn't already been said, but definitely amongst the best of the many B&Bs I've stayed in over the years... Thanks Nick and Annette! (Also, speaking as someone who was doing this trip without a car, Haltwhistle is easy to get to by train, having a good service to both Carlisle and Newcastle, and is on several...

Had a wonderful long weekend in this home from home. We arrived late but that was no problem. Nick then recommended the town indian takeaway for a late dinner and urged us to bring it back to the house to eat it. While we were out he left crockery and cutlery for us. This was the first example of how...

A beautiful, clean and comfortable B&B with great and very helpful hosts. When we had to run to the hospital, they came with us and even cared about we could get the medicine. Nothing we asked for was to much and when one of us had to stay at the B&B they cared very well. They made us feel like...

We booked on line, no problems. On arrival Annette gave my 16yr old son & I a very warm welcome after a tiring days walk of Hadrian's Wall. She provided a comprehensive run down on all options and use of facilities. This made us feel at home straight away, with my son enjoying the 'hospitality' biscuits. Our room, with fantastic...
