Stayed for 1 night but will definitely go back. Lovely hosts full of local info. Spot on breakfast with homemade jams too. Great place to stay. Agree with picking up the vouchers for KIngs Arms-good food.

Thornsgill's a lovely traditional B&B and you'll be well looked after, get the finest of breakfasts and good advice on the local pubs. Les & Dorothy are the friendliest of hosts and the rooms are lovely and spacious. Well worth picking up their money-off voucher for the King's Arms for the finest of pies. Stayed here whilst walking the Pennine Journey and arrived early after a very wet day. They immediately put the heating on so I had a warm room. And despite being on only day three of the walk the en-suite bath was very welcome. They provided lots of local information regarding local attractions, walks and eating establishments. The breakfast was superb.... More

We've just returned from our first stay with Les and Dorothy; The most friendly of hosts. They made us feel really welcome and we chatted away like long lost friends. The house is spotless, rooms spacious and food excellent. There are some thoughtful touches which were a surprise, like a sewing kit in the room, alongside hairdryer etc. We had... More

One word excellent! A wonderful place to stay, clean, friendly with great food. Les and Dorothy are wonderful hosts. Excellent choices for breakfast in particular the home made marmalades. Askrigg also has three pubs in the village all of which do good food.

Lovely location in Askrigg, just off the Main Street so quiet and with parking but also only a short distance to the 3 pubs in the village that do great food. Les is very welcoming and friendly making you feel at home and there are... More

When Les open the door to us he welcomed us in and 2 minutes later it was like we knew him all our life. He is the most fantastic host. He introduces guests to each other at breakfast and everyone has a nice chat while you eat. The house is clinically clean, the bed is so comfortable you won't want... More

The service is excellent. The rooms are spotless - utterly spotless. I've been to 4 star hotels which weren't this clean! They let us store our bikes securely in their shed out the back. Breakfast was generous and tasty. Plus wifi and a decent selection of channels on the telly. What more would you like after a long day cycling!... More
