Another visit to Stonefield Castle, this time with our parents. We stayed a lovely refurbished room, with a small sitting room overlooking the gardens. Great food, drinks and company! Ross is a dab hand at the cocktails! Missed Anne's warm welcome this time, but will need to get used to this. The reason for 4* instead of the usual 5*...

Like staying in an old country house with very comfy public spaces and beautiful conservatory dining room. Service was excellent and cheerful. Food and menu good. Views from room and restaurant outstanding. Rhododendrons in full bloom and wildlife scurrying. Peaceful +++ Nice art work on walls.

This castle is beautiful it has lots of character and charm. The bees are spectacular. The decor in the hotel is to be expected, old rustic Scottish fabulous. However we were disappointed by the addition of a dated 70s style restaurant that really let the hotel down decor wise. Food wise however it was very tasty. I had two fish...

We came here for a few days over Easter. What a beautiful place on the side of the Loch! The castle is tastefully decorated and because there are a number of rooms that you can sit in, you often find that you have the space to yourself. Our room was comfortable and although it was one room, because of the...

We stopped at this hotel for one night over Easter with two small children (3 & 6). The location is fantastic, near Kennacraig for the Islay ferry. Firsly, the views of the loch from the restaurant/breakfast room/wedding venue are absolutely stunning. Generally, the service was very friendly, with the exception of the barman who was bordering on grumpy. Asking (politely)...

Had an overnight stay here early April. Stunning location overlooking Loch Fyne. All staff were very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed a bar meal in the evening and had an excellent breakfast in the dining room. Highly recommended.

An excellent short break here. Room( no. 37) was very good indeed, with wonderful views,(although noise from kitchen extractor was a bit intrusive but switched off between 22:00 and 07:30.) Attractive garden walks, but bring wellies if it is raining. Great views from restaurant and excellent and innovative offerings from the Chef. Very good value. Staff friendly and helpful without...

The castle is located down a narrow lane with speed bumps and pot-holes, but is a nice imposing building once you get to it. It is dated and could do with some upgrading and re-furbishment but it still has the feeling of its history with the open fires and wall mounted stag heads. Our room was on the small side...

Just back from a 2 night stay in this lovely castle just north of Tarbert in Argyll. Hotel is full of character with open fires, a library with lots of games and books and a stunning dining room overlooking Loch Fyne. Also lots of nice walks around the grounds. We stayed in a standard room which was very pleasant (Room...

Booked a 2 night stay on dinner, bed and breakfast basis with Loch views. From the moment we arrived and saw the Castle and views we were not disappointed. Large bedroom with lovely bathroom, lots of tea, coffee, toiletries etc. Views of the loch were amazing. The dining room at the back of the hotel had lovely views of the...
