We two Kiwis stayed on the converted barge anchored across from the hotel for a night. Newly converted and very comfortable and a great nighttime view of the harbour. Had dinner (great local seafood) and full breakfast local bacon and eggs all delicious. Something different and thoroughly recommended.

Just back from a two night stay in this super hotel. Lovely room with really comfy king size bed. Next time will try and book a room with a seaview though as the view from the front if the hotel is amazing. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant is first class and their new gin...

Stayed on the hotels converted barge for two nights at the beginning of April. The barge is anchored in the harbour, directly across the road from the hotel. The barge has four bedrooms, one of which is smaller than the others. All the rooms have been very tastefully furnished and are very comfortable. The on suite bathrooms are of a...

we stayed at the Anchor Barge for a weekend at the beginning of March 2016. The barge accommodation was outstanding - had breakfast both mornings in the Anchor Hotel restaurant which is directly opposite the barge. Welcome on arrival was great - we were shown to our "cabin" and were pleasantly surprised at the furnishings and size of the room...

Dismayed at having to drive through snow on 28th April to get there. However the warm welcome from James & Louise helped considerably. Had concerns the cabin might be cold, but with the heating on it was very comfortable. Cabin finished to a very high standard (ours was at the bow). The wine and chocolate treats were a nice finishing...

I had a room with a wonderful view overlooking the beautiful Tarbert harbour. The staff were very welcoming and we felt at home from the moment we arrived. We ate in the restaurant and the food was very good value and done to perfection. We will certainly return to this fantastic hotel.

Stayed in the barge across from the Anchor Hotel - it is absolutely beautiful- nicer than many 5 star hotels we've stayed in. Only gripe is the noise from the plumbing- every 30 seconds for a good 20 minutes late at night a sound resembling a very large washing machine draining and about to start a spin cycle - we...
