I stayed here a few weeks ago with the partner, it's better if you can get a room with a sea view, because the promenade near the hotel was less desirable and you can't see the seas unless you stay on the top floor. The hotel is small and they close the bar quite early, what surprised us was, they gave us a 'doggy bag' of cold breakfast the night before to save them getting up early. Well..the breakfast was small and we were hungry, it contained 2 tiny kids yogurts, 2 croissants, 2 small boxes of cereal with the partner didn't like that could be eaten out of the box, sour grapes and sour apples. We were just hungry. The room overlooked terraced houses and only 1 window would open a little bit, tv didn't work, shower didn't work, no plug for bath, only 2 bottles of shower gel. No individual soap for the sink. Tiny bathroom, enough room to use the loo of hop in the bath.…
We had two nights here to explore the surrounding area. The hotel is right on the seafront which gives a great view. Parking is off street just round the corner but there is a loading bay outside the hotel to offload bags. Very friendly hosts and the room was big and clean and had everything we needed. Very good covid restrictions in place. Breakfast was a very generous continental breakfast given the night before to keep in our fridge- added bonus of not having to get dressed for breakfast! Walking distance to places to eat and close to some lovely places to visit in the surrounding area of Conwy and Colwyn bay.
The location was great, right on the sea front with seating outside, it was very clean, the room spacious and bed comfy, the hosts were very friendly and welcoming making a very relaxed atmosphere, the breakfast was as expected, very enjoyable, had a nice night stay thank you
On arrival the hosts were very welcoming and explained all covid requirements lovely room ideal location nice little continental breakfast towels provided fridge in room would recommend and def visit again
Stayed for 1 night and slightly disappointed from reading the rave reviews to the experience we had. Positives are the hosts are very welcoming, great location to walk into Rhyl (a few mins) and breakfast pack which you are issued with, a full continental breakfast. The rooms are pretty basic and bathroom could do with an upgrade. Our mattress was heavily stained and well past it’s best and needed replacing. Springs dug in to my side and half of the mattress dipped which had indicated the springs had gone. There was mildew in the window frame, dirty bathroom pull cord, extremely dusty extractor frame, glass pane blown in window with condensation and the pipes were noisy, which kept us awake late and woke us early first thing. There were only cheap window blinds and the light poured in around 6am. Having said that, the bed linen and shower/bathroom were very clean as was the floor/carpet. Unfortunately with other budget hotels out there offering a more comfortable night sleep, we wouldn’t return to OYO. …
Just left from a night away, start to finsh was pretty much perfect. The owners are welcoming, helpful, chatty and overall really nice people. Everything is spotless, cleaned to a high standard, had everything we needed in the room. Breakfast is a continental put in your fridge ready for the morning with a range off croissants, fruit, biscuits, juice, cereal, milk, yogurts and cakes. Very generous, i really have nothing bad to say and will most defo be returning. Thankyou for a great welcoming stay.
Fantastic place to stay . Clean , warm , friendly, great breakfast and close to the centre of town and sea front . We live in Vietnam and come to RHYL to visit my family twice a year and always stay here. Best hotel in the area and a great price.
Stayed here for 4 nights. As a lone traveller I felt safe in a clean, comfortable and warm environment. My room met all my needs including hairdryer, iron and ironing board and a fridge. Complimentary breakfast had lots of choice and it was good to meet other guests in a friendly environment. Wayne was a great host, full of local knowledge and really looks after his guests. I would definitely return here if visiting Rhyl in the future.
Cannot praise this hotel enough! The room was warm clean and comfortable, fridge in room which was really handy, tv was quite small but I guess we are all getting used to 42 inch and bigger screens 😁. Wayne checked us in and told us all we needed to know. Breakfast was great, plenty choice and excellent service from both the lads and the girls. I forget the other lads name but I am sure he will remember me calling him Tiny Tim lol (the one that does the prank phone calls) had lovely conversations and laughs with the lads. Absolute gem of a place and would highly recommend. Just a pity the neighbours rubbish brought down the tone of the area! Shame on you Rhyl council ☹
I have read all the reviews and agree with a lot that has been said. Wayne and Will friendly and good hosts. My room was comfortable with a lovely view over the sea front. Unfortunately it was also over the bar and very noisy . One 2 occasions I had to get up and get dressed to go downstairs and ask for the music to be turned down! On the second occasion a fellow guest got quite aggressive with me and suggested I was spoiling his night ( it was 11 p.m) and I should change my room or put ear plugs in !!!! Will was apologetic the next morning but it really spoilt my stay so will not be returning
