This was our first ever experience of eating out on Christmas day for our party of 10. 2 of our party have eaten out several times over the years on Christmas day. We had pre ordered and paid, which was great, no worrying about sorting out a bill after. The table was really nicely presented, good space around the table...

We attended one of the Xmas party nights here. We all had a fantastic night. Room was decorated nicely. Food was nice, served quickly and hot ! I thought the staff all worked hard to serve such a large amount of people. Band was also excellent. We will definatley be back again.

We had a table booked for a "Christmas Party Night'. We were asked to be there for 7.30. The room was set out like a school canteen other than a few round tables. The starters were served by some very young girls and fair play they were doing their best as there were 2 very official looking ladies with clipboards....

I stayed only one night on business. The staff were friendly. There are two types of rooms, smaller "bothy" rooms and "executive" rooms with the second being nearly twice the price of the first (i.e. top rate for the area I would think). My bothy room overlooked the road but some (all?) of the exec rooms overlook the river. During...

Stayed here on business for one night and had a refurbished room. It was comfy, a bit warm and shower was a bit weak but overall it was ok. Breakfast was lovely with prompt service. The cost I paid I found a little expensive for what I got however that is not necessarily a criticism as it may well be...

Went to a private function in the function rooms behind the hotel. Staff were very helpful and friendly, directed us in the right direction for the function. Kept on top of clearing the tables with being intrusive.

Arrived mid - afternoon to be pleasantly greeted by young man on reception. Our room overlooked the river Severn but the view was blocked by a fire escape. The room had an enormous double bed, wood furniture was modern but plain. in fact the whole hotel seemed to have wood theme which made it rather dowdy. It has a good...

Booked at the last minute as we didn't originally intend an overnight. Staff were excellent, parking good and the location is central but easily accessible. The room was superb and the breakfast views were brilliant from the first floor restaurant. This hotel is definitely worth a stay and finding somewhere of this standard in Newtown is definitely a good thing.
