2016 Day of the Dead week was one of the best vacations of my life! This experience is about so much more than culinary delights--though the week was full of these as well! Continually surrounded by beauty, we explored and participated in Morales culture and celebrations. Walking the nighttime cobblestone streets of Tepotzelon with our squash lanterns for illumination amidst...

My week at La Villa Bonita took place during the Mexican celebration of The Day of The Dead. For me, a highlight of the visit was seeing how different towns celebrate this important holiday. Of course, we also learned how to make delicious meals such as chicken with two moles, three kinds of tamales, and great desserts, The rooms where...

I had the best time at La Villa Bonita! What I appreciated most, aside from eating so much good food!, was that it was a true cultural experience. From tagging along on trips to the market with Chef Ana, to just hanging out at the house with her and her family, I felt like I was truly exposed to life...

My spouse reserved this B&B and cooking school based on information he researched about the classes and the experience of Chef Ana Garcia. We spent seven days at the property and felt like we had moved in with the family! Each morning was a trip to the market to source ingredients for the main meal of the day in Chef...

What a wonderful way to vacation and enjoy traditional Mexican cuisine. Chef Ana and her family make you feel so welcome and no matter what level you are at cooking Chef Ana makes you feel like you are doing everything perfect. The trips to the market, a trip to an artisan potter it was all interesting and very fun. Then...

Our family had a wonderful time with Ana and Robb and their welcoming staff over Spring Break (March 2016). We saw many wonderful sights (a day trip to Cuernavaca and pottery demonstration), and undertook some fun, strenuous activities (the hike up to Tepozteco is no joke), but the highlight of the trip was Ana's cooking acumen. We brought our two...

Thank you very much for the kind review. We really enjoy having families with us and we loved your family! Cooking and enjoying meals as a family is very important to Chef Ana. Being the parents of 3 boys, we find it very hard to find an experience that is interesting and enjoyable for everyone. The simple pleasure of preparing...

Spent a week with chief Ana and her staff in February when she moves her culinary school to the west coast village of Sayulita. What a great experience. Of course the menu will be primarily seafood, the best and freshest imaginable. She's a great teacher and you can bet it will be hands on for her students. From cerviche to...

Having previously experienced La Villa Bonita in Tepoztlan, we took the opportunity to see Sayulita and once again enjoy the cooking classes offered by Chef Ana. We stayed for a week with her over Thanksgiving. What a wonderful time - even enjoyed turkey on Thanksgiving! The foods prepared this time were based mainly on the fresh fish that was available...

We visited La Villa Bonita over the winter holidays. Robb and Ana's three charming kids were at home and were the perfect playmates for our kids! The cooking classes were so fun and laid-back that I didn't realize how much I was learning until I returned home and continued working my way through the recipes that Ana gave us. Tepotztlan...

I love to cook so my wife took me here for a 6 day culinary retreat and I was in heaven. Chef Ana welcomed us into her family and we honestly felt like we lived with them. She taught us how to cook, buy produce and experiment. More importantly, she introduced us to Mescal!
