Firstly, once we booked we received a very informative email from the owners pointing out many tips and information our upcoming stay - this was a nice touch and very helpful. The hosts in general are excellent and have great local knowledge. Depending on which room you book, it can be a challenge to get your bags to your rooms...

We stayed here after doing one of the Waitomo Caves trips, and found it delightful. The host was very welcoming & helpful, and the room was tidy, clean, and fully equipped. Definitely a good value in this small town!

The owners make this place great. They were extremely helpful as we spent a couple of days exploring the area. They suggested places to eat (definitely try Huhu across the street!) and nearby attractions. They provided towels for black water rafting and flashlights to see the glowworms at night. Parking is easy and it's a short walk to eat. Plus...

Great location for visiting the caves, also opposite huhu cafe which is a lovely restaurant. Owners hospitable and knowledgeable about how to get the most out of our stay including a nice recommended short walk nearby. Breakfast was good, communal and social feel with time to chat with other guests. Free wifi too. Free parking.

This lovely lodge has eight cabin rooms and is perched on a hillside with panoramic views from the top rooms. The wifi is very strong in the breakfast area and in the covered patio area just outside it, but as one moves upwards the signal weakens. Wifi struggles to reach Room 6. Room 3 has the best views for sure,...

Thanks for your kind words. You are correct, rooms 1 & 3 do have the best views over the surrounding countryside. The other rooms tend to have closer, garden views.

This B&B is great. Owners are very friendly and helpful. They pointed us to a great hike nearby that we never would have known of, and even supplied flashlights. Breakfast was very good, lots of options. The lodge is right across the street from a bar and restaurant. Options in Waitomo are limited. This is the place to stay.

The Guest Lodge is in a prime spot in the centre of the village surrounded by beautifully tended gardens. Our room was spotlessly clean and we had stunning views of the surrounding countryside. But what sets this B&B apart is it's wonderful hosts, Colin and Janet. They are a fine example of customer service at its best. From the welcome...

Thanks for the review. The shower is a typical shower set up in New Zealand and Australia. Most showers start off cold as the water in the pipes will be cold and a half-way setting is normally correct for most people with minor adjustments for personal comfort. When turned off, the water normally stops before it has time to turn...

We only stayed for one night, but thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The room was comfortable, the gardens were nice. The hosts, Janet and Colin were welcoming and helpful. It's an easy walk to most places. Ample breakfast.

We stayed here for a couple of nights. Nicely positioned in the village, with the caves and restaurants nearby. Colin and Janet had lots of good suggestions for the area and made us feel right at home. The room was simple but comfortable, clean and quiet. Would go back.
