This place is 6 minutes away from the Glow Worm caves. We arrived at 9pm and were greeted but a lively gentleman who checked us in and was totally ok with my kids running amok at that time of night (kids were tired, flying and driving all same day). There was 5 of us and we all got in one...

I could have sworn we booked a Family room, but we ended up in huge cabin that could fit 7 people! It was so nice. The drive in was harrowing at night in the rain, and I was wondering if maybe I'd booked wrong. But as soon as we arrived the owners made us feel so comfortable, and explained the...

I am pleased the weather changed for you. It is great to hear our visitors enjoy our little part of earth.

My wife and I stayed for one night at the Glow Worm Motel in our whirlwind tour of New Zealand in order to experience the majesty of the eponymous bugs in the nearby caves. The motel is not much to look at, and I admit some trepidation as I headed to the motel office to get our key. However, the...

The cabins are really nice...large and spacious and comfy and clean and well stocked. The owner is really friendly and will tell you about lots of cool stuff to do nearby apart from the glowworm caves. The place is a bit difficult to find I have to say!

The owners were helpful, area is quiet (unless you open the window), the room was spacious with a queen bed and had a fan. I wish I could leave more stars but for the price overall it looked outdated(like a hostel) and your own transportation is a must. There is no public transportation or food establishments within walking distance. The...

Reasonably priced motel, very clean. Bed comfortable. We were able to cook a good meal in the small kitchen.Very helpful and friendly hosts. Ideal for one night when visiting the caves. Located just off the roundabout as you turn off the A1.

The rooms were very clean and spacious, the beds comfortable and the host was extremely informative in terms of local (good short walks and tips on where to go for dinner) and more general information. There are even a couple of sheep grazing to keep the grass down. Don't be put off by the relaxed looking exterior : this is...

If you are looking for 5 star accommodation this isn't it, but I loved it. A very warm welcome with helpful advice thrown in. Spacious clean rooms in a rural farm type setting. Close to attractions. Very relaxing. Would definitely stay again.

The hosts are very friendly and the rooms are clean. However the whole establishment is tired and a bit rundown, considering the condition the price is a bit high. But it is very convenient for the glow worm caves.

i stayed here over the weekend as we were doing a glowworm cave tour. The host was amazing, i give him a 10/10, all we did was aske where to go for dinner and he gave us a map and circled the places he thinks are best, he also gave us a tip off of a nighttime walk in which...
