An absolute must. the website does justice to this place. We stayed over on Easter Saturday. Liz is an exceptional host, would definitely re-visit. Our family from Aussie loved this place. It's a pity we couldn't stay longer.

Although this quaint cottage on the property of the owner's home is a bit isolated on a country road not far from Otorohanga, we were delighted with the comfort and warmth of this bed & breakfast cottage. Liz Cowan, the innkeeper, couldn't have been more welcoming and charming. The cottage is two-stories with the kitchenette, bath and comfortable living room...

Thanks so much, Greg. We're glad you enjoyed your stay and took the trouble to drive along our country road. I know it seems a bit isolated compared to city accommodation, but the plus is a 15-minute peaceful drive with almost no traffic.

We're not sure where to start in our review of Kamahi Cottage. We have now stayed there twice, separated by twelve years, and adore the place more than ever. In fact, it just might be the best B&B experience we've ever had. While the cottage itself is truly special, both lovely and separated enough from the main house that you...

Your (return) visit is just one of the reasons we enjoy running this little business. Please make sure the next visit isn't twelve years away!

We stayed in Kamahi Cottage last night. It was the highlight of our Northern Island experience. When you read these reviews you think it can't be that good...but it is. Beautiful setting, excellent breakfast, all the comforts of home, and a fantastic host!

We knew from the cottage that Kamahi Cottage would be charming. We had no idea it would be in such a gorgeous setting. Perched on a hillside, the view from the bedroom is amazing. The gardens are award worthy in and of themselves, and Elisabeth and Evan have thought of everything to make the visit very special. Elisabeth is an...

The pictures don't do justice to this great farmhouse/cottage. Liz is a great host and fantastic cook. We stayed here after a long hike and before popping in to see the glow worm caves. On a six night, six town journey of the North Island, this was the best place we stayed in. Fresh air, very peaceful and high end.

This cottage along with the most gracious hostess (and host) was by far and away one of the highlights of our trip through the North and South Island. Liz was way too kind when she offered to make us a light dinner as we arrived hungry... late in the day! The gardens, food, warm hospitality, lovely setting, star gazing were...

If you are looking for a beautiful location, total peace and serenity, and great food, this is the place for you! It's a little off the beaten path, but the cottage is completely separate from from the owner's home so while you have the feel of a B&B, you have the privacy of a 5 star hotel. The owner, Liz,...

My husband and I spent a couple of nights here during our Honeymoon traveling through New Zealand. Both of us would have been content to stay at Kamahi Cottage forever. Everything about that place is perfect, adorable and comfortable. The front porch was our favorite. We loved sitting in the hammock swings, drinking gin and tonics (made with a lemon...

We were in awe with the Kamahi Cottage and once we got there we knew that just one night wouldn’t be enough. We realized we were only leaving back to Rotorua (away from the cottage the next day) for a Polynesian spa and when it came down to either that or staying an extra night at the cottage we couldn’t...
