Stayed only one night here whilst visiting Waitomo caves and found it a very friendly place to stay. A tour of the farm and being able to touch the animals, even an Ostrich, was a bonus. Breakfast was good and the addition of an Ostrich egg omelet was a first for us.

The owners are lovely and they make a big effort to ensure you are made to feel welcome. I loved the range of animals and being able to feed them. The rooms are a little tired, and could do with a deep clean, but it is a working farm stay. Overall all a vry pleasant stay.

I mean really, where else in NZ are you going to get to do that?! The accomodation was delightful, beds comfortable, cottage warm on a cold winters night and breakfast was super! All home-made, bread, yoghurt and muesli options. We loved Ann and her very friendly positive approach, and of course, the animals! What a lovely alternative to a boring...

This 'farm stay' type of accommodation is more than just a place to sleep and have breakfast. We were a large family group of 14 and had a great time dispite the wet, wintery weather. Anne accommodated us well. She was friendly, kind and helpful. The beds were comfortable, rooms were warm, a tv in each room, with great food...

Thank you for your lovely "homely" review. We really enjoyed your company and I value my life is enriched by the opportunity to have your family " come as guests and leave as friends" - then come back again years and years later (with children all now adults) already appreciating and rekindling warmth of a past visit and the "...

Was a lovely stay, very accommodating. Super fun playing with the kittens and munchkin cat called Limbo!! Too cute!! Had an amazing farm animal tour lead by Anne and got to feed some sheep and llamas. Yayahhh! My white sneakers did not to cope with the muddy areas, so I was very grateful for the large supply of gumboots Anne...

We went to the Big Bird with family (14 of us). The first impression was that the place could do with good clean up, there were piles of rubbish scattered around the place, ramps were slippery and bushes overgrown. It seems that in the accommodation, every available space has been filled with a bed, so there was nowhere for us...

We are a small homestyle farmstay B&B and rarely asked to cater for 14 in one group in one area. Our attraction is the home zoo tour with over 50 unique petting animals. (A huge job & considerable cost) Prices are $50 adult, $25 child and $30 teen = $180 for 5. If you allowed $30 for an hours "animal...

Ann is a wonderful host and provided us with a great cup of tea and cookies when we arrived and a wonderful breakfast the next morning. We enjoyed the tour of the farm. While we understand it is a working farm, we did feel the room we had was a bit musty and needs a renovation.

We stayed as a family in the bungalow and loved our adventure from the big city to country life. There was plenty of space, comfy and cosy for our family of 5. It was our last hope for a place to stay. The owner said she only had one room left and it was not her best. Well, it was fine. It is out in the country. No problem. We had a typical NZ family meal. Wine, no problem, she sold us a bottle at a good price. Do the evening tour...
