Friendly reception at a type of hotel we had not seen for many a year and can be described as an old style french hotel, which is situated on the outskitrts of Auxonne. . The rooms are cosy and basic but had most mod cons you would want. The restaurant has a limited menu but it covered most tastes.

Yes they do still exist those lovely hotels in France that you could find when on your motor touring holiday. The de la Gare d'Auxonne is one of those fine family hotels with its own restaurant that has survived being bypassed by the mighty Péage. Just south of Dijon it the beautiful countryside it has its own bar and restaurant...

Considering the reasonable price we were quite happy with this hotel, and despite being located opposite the station it was very quiet. The room was quite large and well-appointed, and the beds were pretty comfortable. The staff (owners?) were friendly and helpful too. Best of all though is the restaurant at the hotel. Reasonably priced it may be but the...

This hotel was fine for one night; we slept well despite the close proximity to the train station. The rooms were fine but our shower had a damp smell so there was a rather overpowering scent dispenser in the bathroom. Otherwise fine and very efficient staff.

Stayed here one night on a stop from UK to the Alps. Good location, away from the Autoroute, but close to it / fairly easy access. Hotel / rooms / breakfast are all very basic and plain, but perfectly adequate / ideal for a short stay, at a very good price. Didn't have evening meal here, but would have no...

although it looked a bit old, it was a very pleasent stay. The locals in the morning very friendly and the owners more than friendly. The restaurant was good. Don't expect luxury but a real nice French hotel.

We found this hotel by chance at the end of a long day of driving and it served its purpose admirably. Located across a square from the station we were not disturbed by the noise of trains passing through during the night despite our room overlooking the square. The room was basic with en suite facilities (shower). There is a...

“Don't worry about train station - I'm a light sleeper, had a front room but didn't hear them (though I do sleep with the window shut).”
