We have stayed here as a family group of 11 people ranging from grandparents to young children for 9 nights. The hotel represents good value for money. Lovely, uncluttered grassy outdoor space with plenty of loungers, and a breakfast buffet that caters for both western and eastern tastes. All our rooms were large (we stayed in the sea view rooms) with constant hot water which I personally love. Some of family members were vegan, and whilst the food was not as varied for them the staff were helpful in making vegan options where possible. The one thing I would bare in mind is that most people eat out in the evenings, as did we. For us the hotel lacked atmosphere and unsurprisingly the food is quite a bit more expensive than the local restaurants just outside. Thank you Bayview Beach Hotel for making our Christmas and New Year special.

Food and beverage prices in proper hotels (this one or nearby) will be higher than the restaurants, eateries and mini markets available along the stretch. This is due to the higher cost involved to maintain and meet the hygiene and safety standards set by local authorities which unfortunately the smaller premises do not necessarily comply. I regret we are unable to compete with the prices if you buy your own from outside shops. We look forward to welcoming you back next year during the festive season.

This was the 7th time we have visited Penang and stayed at the Bayview over the last 19 years and it’s safe to say we can’t stop loving it! Everything at the Bayview is pretty perfect, the grounds and swimming pool are stunning not to mention the friendly service from the pool attendants that continue to remember us each time. The breakfast is one of my favourites every time with options to cater to everyone, your hardest decision will be which way you want your eggs cooked from the live station. Our room was gorgeous and huge with a lovely view of the beach and pool, the housekeeping team are always so polite and friendly with a warm smile each day. We were travelling for my Mums 60th Birthday and when enquiring with Reception to organise a cake they went out of there way not only to prepare it at a particular time for us but offered it complimentary as a Happy Birthday, we couldn’t have been more happy. I could go on writing about the Bayview forever but will finish by saying thank you to the whole team for another perfect stay and we can’t wait to see you all again!

We spend one night at Bayview. The view is good as always! The room rate is affordable. The hotel has several information boards related to COVID-19 (e.g., lobby and coffee house areas) and implemented good SOPs (i.e., MySejahtera checking upon arrival, hand sanitizers everywhere). The breakfast meal was OK but we love the food served at Kelapa bar more especially mee sotong, fish and chips, and ais kacang. FO and F&B staff hospitality is the best! However, they can improve cleanliness at the changing room close to the kids' pool and control the capacity of people inside the pool.

This hotel pretends to be a four star resort, it’s a 2 star one maximum. It’s outdated, dirty and the staff is very rude. Staff is not welcoming at all and just finishes business going through the motions. The way they close off a conversation is: “that’s all thank you”. The men’s restroom downstairs smells, isn’t cleaned very well and is old. Price per night is way to high and misleading on website. They charge tax and a ‘service cost’ that’s 10% of the price at the desk.
We booked the sea view room. There’s actually a sea view and a view on the pool. But the room itself is stuffy, patched, outdated, lacks atmosphere and isn’t very clean. There’s an airconditioning system that cools down the room but the air stays extremely humid. Definitely something to fix. The room was recently slightly renovated, but not very well: no door in the bathroom. The renewed shower head is positioned very unfortunately, when showering the water is spilled all over the bathroom floor. There’s already mold on the grout, probably because of the bad air control. Breakfast wasn’t included and we had to pay 38 Ringgit (8.31 euro) per person extra. When we arrived for breakfast the staff member looked my friend up and down and said: “Yes?”. We gave our room number to another staff member who said this wasn’t correct. Of course she seemed to be wrong, but we didn’t get any excuses. In the Kuala Lumpur Hilton we payed 20 ringgit per person for an excellent, fresh and tasteful breakfast. (Continental) breakfast was overall cheap and not very tasteful. My friend got sick afterwards.
Internet didn’t work, so had to use our mobile internet on our phones.
The swimming pool is very busy, a lot of families, screaming children, they charge more for alcohol, the beach is closed off with an ugly fence, there’s no one there since the water isn’t clean enough to go swimming. The deck chair cushions are not clean at all (see photo).
This hotel clearly isn’t focused on Western tourism.
We checked out a day earlier and were very glad to be gone. Of course we didn’t get the night refunded. Once checked out, papers signed and payed way too many the staff member pushed some documents in our hands and closed of with: “Okay thanks.”

Our Resort is officially rated and qualify as a 4 stars hotel after stringent compliance with the standards set by the Ministry of Tourism Malaysia and I am disappointed that we were somewhat rendered as a 2 star rating. Our resort has a variety of rates and packages made available so depending on one’s choice, one can opt either for a room only or room with breakfast deal. Our breakfast price of RM38.00 is a full buffet spread of western and local items with an egg station is very reasonable. We regret that the period you stayed coincides with the local school holidays which you find annoying. Further to your specific comments remedial actions have been taken to address them. I would like to assure you that there is no discrimination intended or preferential treatment practiced by the staff.

The building itself is very old with min maintenance. Called prior the booking to ask about bathtub availability, and was informed that 'ALL our hotel come comes with a bathtub', however it is NOT upon checked in. Few amenities are missing, we have to call housekeeping to request for Towels, Hand towels, Mineral water - which supposed to be available in the room at the first place. The lifts at the lobby took forever to reach, and we have to take service lift which located at behind of the lobby which make us feel unwelcomed. Breakfast served doesn't meet the 4 star rating standard. Very disappointed with the stay, will be my first and last visiting this hotel.

Booked a 2 night stay on Agoda for a quiet family time to relax and unwind. We specifically chose this hotel as it is well known for its hospitality and amenities. What we were unaware was that the rooms were heavily promoted elsewhere at rock bottom prices for stay until the end of the year.
The sheer number of people surprised us as we could hardly even find a place to park, some guests even had to park by the roadside.
As for the ameneties, the pool was overcrowded, especially the kids pool. We were quite surprised to find a rolled up diaper left at the side of the pool.
The breakfast buffet spread was made unavailable (which I think is the right decision by the management), but the quality of the ala-carte food should be improved. Cold sausage and scrambled eggs is not what one would expect to be served at such an establishment.
The staff however did live up to expectations as they were professional and helpful at all times.

We stayed here with our family in March 2019. All in all we had a great stay, th rooms were very big and newly renovated. We had a family room which was plenty big enough for the 5 of us. Breakfast every day was great, huge choice of freshly cooked options which even the pickiest of us managed to eat well every day. The pool area is really nice and a stroll from the pool takes you to the beautiful beach. The bars are reasonably priced too. The kids play area was great to get some respite from the heat and let the kids burn off some energy. The tour company in the lobby were brilliant, arranging for a mini bus for us for the day to take us where we wanted to go for a very reasonable price. Lots of restaurants near by and not far from the night market. And the best views of sunset are at this end of the beach. I would definitely go back.

I stayed for two nights and liked the hotel. I was looking for relaxation, a nice pool and location on the beach; and that what I got. Booked a Deluxe room and got a partial sea view. Tranquil room and therefore good sleeping quality. Bed and pillow comfortable. Location directly on the beach and water was tranquil and nice for swimming, but it had a sign warning about jellyfish and swimming on own risk. Breakfast and lunch were fine, and pool service friendly and attentive. For me, it was a good value for money beach resort.

We get the room cheaply due to certain promotions. the rooms were pretty basic, but sufficient. Good for family holiday. The pool is very good. enough entertainment for the kids. The hotel beach area was adjacent to the HRC and Golden Sands. We requested for early check in at 1pm. They happily entertained us. We booked 2 rooms, the family sized (a larger room) was ready for us early. But we have to wait for the other room later. No issue. We were lucky to get the room early, as it was jammed packed during the actual check in time - 3pm. There were too many people. We didn't go out at night as parking was too limited. We didn't want to park at the roadside later. Plus, not many restaurants available perhaps due to Covid. So we ordered from Grabfood and Foodpanda. We didn't take their breakfast package as we could easily book local food from Foodpanda, or simply drive out. The check out was a smooth.
The hotel really ensure the guests are fully vaccinated before they can check in.

Our first visit to the Bayview and from what we experienced cannot understand some of the negativity on some reviews. The experience we had was one of being satisfied with most things, the staff from the check-in to the maintenance, gardeners and cleaning were wonderfully friendly and helpful. The room we had was large clean and comfortable, beds also were very comfortable. The breakfast buffet was wonderful couldn't have asked for better. Best of all for us were the grounds, peaceful and shaded lots of trees around so one could sun bathe in dappled shade which we thoroughly enjoyed. Yes the bathroom could be updated but how much time does one spend in there. Altogether a very nice experience. One point I have to make and I did bring this to the attention while we were there is the use of one use plastic bottles for drinking water in the rooms, please find a way to supply guests without polluting the world.
