Great little private bungalows a stones throw from the beach and 2 different yoga studios. It's located a little bit north of the main part of town so we rented a small motorcycle and buzzed from beach to beach and whatnot. The staff fed us a breakfast every day of fresh fruit, juice, coffee, toast and eggs. They also provide...

Very nice spot outside Santa Teresa. This B&B is managed by a nice relaxed Belgium guy. The sea is only 50 meters away but for the best spot you have to walk roughly 500 meters to the left to have a beautiful long silent sand beach. The B&B offers a nice breakfast so overall good value for money. You need...

We stayed a total of 8 nights at Makanas (#3). We loved how quiet and secluded it is, away front he busy 'town centre'. We had our own vehicle, so getting around wasn't a problem, everything is about a 5 min drive. The roads in Santa Teresa are pretty bad, and there is dust in the air all the time....

Makanas is clean and Has a very good breakfast for the price point. Massimo is very helpful with suggestions on places to visit. The location is at the far north end of town so you need some type of transportation to enjoy all of Santa Teresa.

This was the best birthday surprise anyway could have asked for! My boyfriend and my family decided to surprise us with a birthday getaway and I could have not been happier. I've never been to Costa Rica, so I didn't know what to expect. As soon as we got to Santa Teresa, I was blown away by it's beauty! When...

Staff is friendly, bungalows are very tidy and clean, weather is amazing - what else would you need? :) They also have small restaurant, which is quite decent. Good food for lower price. Comparing to other large hotels in the area - Makanas is at a fraction of a cost, yet at the same distance form the beach. Recommend to...

I had such a wonderful and relaxing stay at Makanas! The staff was friendly and accommodating, my room was spacious and clean, and the breakfast was AMAZING! What I liked the most was how close the beach was from my room. Everything about the atmosphere was quiet and relaxing and I would highly recommend Makanas to everyone. I wish I...

We spent four nights at Makanas in March, such a hidden gem in an otherwise tourist filled spot. Lovely little cabanas, a secluded area and super friendly staff. The restaurant was great too, really good food and fun drinks! Absolutely worth a visit!

I can't comment on the quality of the hotel b/c they cancelled our reservation two days before we arrived. Apparently, they double booked and didn't communicate this (or apologize) until the week we were schedule to arrive. At first, they tried to get us to take a house driving distance from the beach and were unable to show us any...

Hello, Im so sorry your stay was such a dissapointment , I really apologise for this. The problem was there was a change of management and the old management never updated us about your reservation. We try to do what we could to help you, but sadly enough there happened a tragedy in my family as my mom passed away...
