Very nice. You really feel you are in Panamá. The owner is so accommodating, treated us so well. Walking distance to restaurants and stores. Made a found memory. Would stay there again. Plus: owner raises rescued sloths - fascinating!

There are two rooms available in the garden of a private home. It is located on the main road, which is very convenient to buses, stores, restaurants, etc. yet very quiet because the rooms are set back in the garden and El Valle isn’t exactly a bustling metropolis anyway. The bus from PC dropped us off near the house, and...

We drove our rent-a-car into the front gate and we had a convenient and safe place to park. Then we began a unique experience. Others have described the sloth refuge experience and we are in total agreement with the other reviews. The sloths were a high point in our trip to Panama. There is a two room duplex at the...

We stayed at Casa Mariposa for 3 nights after coming by local bus from Panama City. What a welcome respite after the steamy heat of the city. The temperatures were much cooler and there is a non-stop breeze. Our room was lovely with a little terrace outside and comfortable chairs to sit in. The property is beautiful with birds flitting...

A short drive from the steamy coastline of Playa Coronado brings you to the fresh climate of El Valle and the ancient volcanic crater that’s become the home of many wealthy Panamanians who like to escape from the heat of the city to the tranquility of the mountains. El Valle is a small town with a local vibe that means...

We stayed three nights in the apartment. It is spacious and equipped for all your needs. The apartments proximity to the road is noisy. The rooms are further back and would be quieter. The market is a short walk away for fresh produce and there are many grocery stores nearby as well. The owners Ursula and Harry are onsite and...

Spending time at Casa Mariposa is like having the best kind of therapy. Set in beautiful gardens, with birds chirping away, you could easily spend a day just sitting there. It is even more fantastic that you may get to meet some rescued sloths. Ursula and her husband couldn't have been more helpful. Breakfast is highly recommended.

My wife and I stayed at Casa Mariposa in August and September, 2015 as the first stage of retiring in El Valle. We stayed in the spacious and modern apartment where we learned about shopping and living in El Valle as we looked for a long-term rental. Ursula was wonderful to us and most helpful in helping us learn to...

My girlfriend and I spent one night at Casa Mariposa and it was great from beginning to end! Harry and Ursula are great hosts, willing to give you tips and info on where to go and what to do in El Valle. They leave you to be in your room once they hand you the keys and they also rented...

Sloths make it totally worth it! Nothing better than a sloth hug before you go. Rooms are basic but comfortable. You get coffee in the room and garden time with sloths daily. Nice garden and upstairs hammock area. Located on the main road
