We had a problem making connections at the B&B we had signed up for. Desperate for help we went to the Saraceno. The staff made calls and tried to help with directions. They called the competitor and tried to arrange with them for us to...More
I was very glad that I had read all reviews for this hotel, which were pretty accurate I have to say. The hotel is amazing and very clean - it is packed full of beautiful furniture and art, which I loved. Our room was in...More
Please find my review below which is a copy of the letter I sent to Il Saraceno upon our return:
Dearest Laura, Maria, Giovanni, Lucio, Antonio & the entire staff at Il Saraceno,
Thank you for making us feel so incredibly welcome at your hotel....More
The only reason I am not rating this hotel average is because it is a 5* star hotel.
Having stayed at a variety of both large multiple chain, and independently owned 5* hotels- I am aware of the standard to be expected.

Beautiful grounds, the hotel is literally carved out of the side of a mountain. Both the view and hotel are beautiful. The staff could be a little friendlier, but overall it was a great experience. I will say that the hotel bar and restaurant are...More

Turn right out of hotel , walk 75m lovely bar overlooking the bay with simple bar menu and reasonable drink prices yet fabulous views. Hope this helps , if you can avoid Il Saraceno all together you will have done yourself a favour

I don't recall specifics, but in general given the location of the hotel and the fact that it is an upscale place I would say pricing for food and drinks is more expensive than average. With that said, it certainly is not unreasonable. Prices in the in-room mini bar for water are pretty decent. Not sure how long you plan on staying but I wouldn't recommend eating dinner in the hotel restaurant more than once. The restaurant/cafe for lunch is cheaper than the actual restaurant and has a more casual menu.
