Everyone has said it all - this is just one of the most special places I have ever stayed. The rooms - although a little small - are beautiful, the food fantastic, the staff wonderful and the setting is sublime. A $65m view to die for. I will be back.

Such a beautiful place ideally situated between Amalfi and Positano. From the minute we arrived we felt relaxed and nothing would be too much trouble. From the shuttle bus to and from Amalfi whenever we wanted, to the mealtime chats with the resident chef. The hotel itself is of the highest quality. Breathtaking views and beautiful gardens.

The Monastero Santa Rosa is literally heaven on earth. I challenge anyone to fault this place! The building is magnificent and it has been restored so beautifully with such attention to detail yet still providing modern day comforts. The staff are amazing, nothing is too much trouble, I think if I'd asked them to fill my bath with sea water...

Where do I start!! Monastero Santa Rosa is absolutely amazing and one of the best (if not the best) hotels we have ever stayed at. The grounds are stunning and the service/staff are beyond impeccable. It is a 17th century monastery. The owner kept quite a bit of the integrity/structure of the monastery and added some modern touches. It is...

This place is a dream come true. It is one of the most unique hotels I have ever stayed in, as it is built in an old monastery. The architects/designers have thought of everything, from heated bathroom floors, to USB charging in the room. The spa is a GREAT value and makes for the most relaxing afternoon treat. The restaurant...

This hotel is absolutely stunning. Located high upon the coast, the views are the most amazing that I have seen on our trip. The room was so comfortable with the best room service that I have ever experienced. The grounds were so intentionally thought out with all the senses in mind - breathtaking - and so many fun places to...

The ride up is a bit windy and rough, but it's all worth it when you take your first look of the view. I have never been so near to tears before. I love that is is somewhat removed from the hustle and bustle but 15 minutes in the complimentary shuttle and you are in town. There are only 20...

My wife and I celebrated our 10th anniversary with our final destination of the Amalfi Coast. We read reviews and looked over photos of various hotels in the area. Monstero lived up to its photos and reviews! Our room was the Deluxe Open Space Suite (Laurus). While we usually look for hotels that are modern, this hotel blended the modern...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Striking the perfect balance of seclusion without solitude, Monastero Santa Rosa allows guests to determine the tone of their stay, whether they're looking to disappear for an intimate getaway or gather with the group and make new acquaintances. It's hard to imagine that the generous grounds, filled with four levels of gardens, lush landscaping, plentiful lounge chairs, and canopied daybeds, serve just 20 rooms and suites. Where most boutique properties might only offer in-room massages, Monastero Santa Rosa hosts a fully equipped spa to rival any major city spa, offering not just treatment rooms, but large-scale amenities that include a sauna, steam, mosaic-tiled experience shower, hydro pool, and tepidarium. Guests are welcome to feel a part of the scene at the library and bar. Engage in a game of chess or cards or read while sipping a martini in the modern cocktail area. Relax down by the pool or discover the resort's secret gardens, quiet sun decks, and indoor relaxation areas. Get the best of both worlds by making your stay as energizing or relaxed as you wish, by selecting different spaces to suit your mood at any time. ... more   less
