It is worth staying at this hotel for its view, which is spectacular. But it also makes a very good base for touring western Sicily. When choosing this hotel it is worth thinking carefully about the type of room you want: those in the beautiful old stone building have a lot of character but they don't have air conditioning and... This is a fine hotel, nicely decorated, helpful staff, slightly understated befitting its location. The restaurant is great the pool is really super and most important is this hotel has one of the nicest views I've every experience from my hotel window. Be sure to request a room with a view! Then use this location as a base for exploring... More

We decided to get out of Palermo our last day there to take an excursion and explore the western coast of Sicily. We knew this was an option for us in the off season, but that to hire a private car/tour guide would be expensive, so we originally declined this service. However, toward the end of our Palermo stay we... More

We did not stay in this hotel, we only made use of its restaurant. We cannot fault this place, both the antipasti and the pasta were extremely good. As a desert I ordered the sweet pastry parcels filled with ricotta which were also very nice.

We were in the Valderice area and stayed here for 3 nights. We stayed in the newer part of the hotel and the rooms are very simple but clean. The views are amazing from all over the property. We rented a common room for an event and it had amazing views as well. You can see Monte Cofano and the... More

My husband and I were traveling with my parents, and my husband had selected this place for the "charm" of the old section. Turned out that the rooms in the old section were quite small and did not have air conditioning, which was fine for me and my husband (it turned quite cool and comfortable at night and we liked... I've just stayed in this hotel for the 5th or 6th time only to find out that standards have seriously deteriorated. It was the first time that I booked this hotel through booking.com. All previous times I booked through them directly (just saying this for clarity's sake, I'm assuming it does not reflect on the kind of rooms given, etc... More

We were booked into the modern building. The rooms are fine, but the walls are paper-thin.Fortunately the hotel was virtually empty---in busy times it must be bedlam.Food in the restaurant was average,as was breakfast. It ia a good base for visiting Erice, but don't come here for peace and quiet.

We went with the Frommer's recommendation to stay here while visting Erice, and that was an unfortunate decision. Firstly, if you are going to see Erice, which you should not miss (!!!), stay in Erice. Nothing else below the mount away from Erice is worth visiting. Anyway, Santa Croce has an old building converted to rooms and then a new... More

Given the prices they charge, and in comparison to all the other places we stayed in Sicily, this place was a real disappointment. Very unimaginative and noise-polluted rooms, a dirty swimming pool, and the most terrible breakfast. I would advise avoiding this place and going somewhere else. The website makes it look a lot better than it is
