Zuleta, a beautiful 17th century farmhouse that once belonged to Galo Plaza Lasso, former president of Ecuador and ambassador to the U.S., and has remained in the same family for more than a century. It just keeps getting better and better at providing the truly authentic experience of life on a big, beautiful working farm-ranch. As a return visitor, this...

This is one of the most beautiful settings - an old family estate. There are pictures of the family in each room and the common areas. Very comfortable. Everyone was friendly - in the evening there is cheese served by the fireplace. One of the owners, Margarita, spent time with us and told us about the hacienda and the family...

Perfect; friendly staff, a welcoming family, great home cooked food and fires in each room ! The location is perfect for a getaway, but it's worth staying at least 3 nights to get the most from the place.

What a fantastic place, we didn't want to leave and honestly two nights was not enough, we would recommend a minimum of three nights. So where do I start: this family own and run Hacienda is so unique as the family sit with you and eat meals, chat and explain the history of the family and area (we had a...

Had the privilege of spending two nights at HZ in late June before heading off the Galapagos and it was definitely not enough time to absorb the beauty of the place and number of things to do. Remarkable hospitality, service, food, and rooms. Not having read the Trip Advisor reviews, coming back to the room with a fire in the...

  • Old embroidery samples reflect Zuleta's role in the industry. (That's my scarf)
  • A comfortable triple room (the boys' larger side with a patio is too messy to photograph!)
  • Fabulous roses everywhere! Everything is simple and beautiful.
