This is a funny place which is full of american and european 22 year olds on their first trip alone. The staff is nice, but it's cash only and no receipt. The food is very blend and boring and it's a rather long walk to other places. But the placing just by the beach is fantastic.

My only regret is that I only got to spend one night at Flutterby in February. It was my last night in Costa Rica and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. The Howler House provided a cheap, comfortable and safe place to sleep, and the rest of the property has everything you need - a bar, restaurant, shared kitchen, yoga area and...

I can't say enough good things about this place. My husband and I stayed in toms cabin because it was the only room available for the night (toms cabin sleeps up to 5 people). We loved the hippie/surfer/yoga vibe and general happiness flowing from the place. Great beer selection for great prices, delicious meals, and the best smoothie I've ever...

I love this place with all of my heart. I knew I was in love before I even came. The management is lovely, and their relations with the locals makes me feel good about staying there, and will bring me back. Amazing food & drink at the bar, love that you can just run a tab. Christopher (Tofer) was an...

This place is legit, good people. All around very happy with my time there. Creative and sustainable. Chickens running around. They are very helpful from the moment you arrive at the hostel until the moment you leave. I have stayed at many hostels all over the world and this is in my top 5!

This hostel is really really cool. We stayed at the la casa loft, basically an open tree house with direct view of the jungle behind it. Flutterby house is an enclosed location with bar, restaurant and several huts and houses that are arranged in some kind of park and surrounded by a huge fence to protect the people inside. You...

The flutterby is a little bit of a walk from where the bus stops, but is well worth the walk. Very accommodating staff and very organized check-in, with a tour of the entire hostel, which is mostly open air. Very clean and well kept. Such a cool area with different dorms in different places. I stayed 1 night in the...

Flutterby House is not only well deserving of its #1 ranking for Uvita, it is likely the best hostel on the entire pacific coast of Costa Rica. I stayed four nights with a friend...and left with at least four more friends. The social experience of staying at Flutterby is not something easily replicated and in my opinion is the key...

Super well organized backpacker hostel. Very friendly and super accommodating staff. Really cool lay out of the place. Kept clean. Big community kitchen as well as a restaurant. Quiet time at 10 with the option of walking to the beach if you still need a few more beers. They got bicycles and surfboards for rent. We stayed longer than planned...
