My wife and I decided on Rancho Pacifico for our honeymoon. As soon as we saw their instagram page and read the reviews, we knew it’s where we wanted to go. Photos and words cannot do this place justice, as the place is the place is truly magical. There is essentially a 1:1 staff to guest ratio, and they are all so incredibly friendly, welcoming and accommodating. Whatever you need, they are there, and are always eager to help make you feel like family. The food, drinks, and specialty coffees are what you would expect at a fine dining restaurant, and the dining area has a beautiful view of the jungle and beach 500m below. We only got back a few months ago, and are already determining how soon we can justify going back again! Truly the best resort and setting that we have ever stayed at, and I cannot recommend this place enough. Pura Vida!…
We stayed at Rancho Pacifico for four nights and absolutely loved every minute. The staff goes above and beyond to not only look after your needs but anticipate them and make your stay totally worry free. The resort itself is picturesque, the room was well appointed and private. That soaker tub made for a lovely retreat on a rainy afternoon. We highly recommend the Mangrove Boat Tour and a massage at the spa on-site. The food was so tasty and fresh. A special shout out to Steven, Sharon, Andrey and Vianney. But truly, the whole staff makes for the most amazing stay. Thank you and we hope to come back for another stay!
I cant say enough good things about Rancho Pacifico! From the location, the resort grounds and the amazing food! But the one thing that makes RP what it is, THE STAFF!! From Noelia, Sharon & Steven… to Vianney, Andrey and Marlon!!! Everyone there makes you feel like royalty! We will visit again!! If you are on the fence! Just book it, you wont be disappointed.
How do I begin? Rancho is a beautiful hotel in a gorgeous setting with incredible staff. Just book it. But assuming you won't just take my word on it without question.. Rancho sits at the very top of a dirt road feeling far removed from the world. For this reason you will want a 4 X4. If you're not comfortable driving a long, bumpy dirt road get a high clearance 4 X 4. This is common with many of the hotels in CR. (and for the area.) Steven the GM and the staff will gladly book transportation for anything should you prefer not to drive. The staff will also be happy to be book any excursions for you. This is far simpler than arranging on your own and you won't pay extra. (Or if you do I can't find it.) Don't worry about the small pool. There aren't many rooms in this hotel and people are often away doing excursions, hiking etc. It's often empty and feels like your own private pool. We spent a couple of evenings in the hot tub having a glass of wine and looking at the stars in total privacy. We stayed in the TreeHouse. Which is a once in a lifetime experience. Let's get the "bad" out of the way. The best part of this room is the views. In one way that's a con. The entire unit is screened so you feel like its just you and the jungle. (The bathroom is walled.) You know, like a really luxurious TREEHOUSE. What you see in the pictures online is exactly what you get. My one complaint is there are no truly solid curtains. Mornings are bright! Easily solved by bringing an eye mask. Are there bugs? Very few- but yes. You're in the jungle. Nothing remotely "scary" or large or earth shattering got in. The tiny (tiny) ants were the worst buggers. It wasn't much worse than our next-stop hotel that was fully walled. Leaving your inner room lights low with the lights outside bright minimizes critters from wanting to come in. Lighting some candles or dimming the lights as the day time fades into night isn't terrible. I had a slight worry that we'd hear people or lose privacy as the waterfall path is parallel to the room- do not worry about that at all. (And bring good shoes you can get muddy for that hike. It's a single path and requires good footing. But worth it!) And don't worry- not having AC or heat is not a con. (Again, common.) The weather here is very temperate and you don't need it. Lastly this room is down a gravel path with a good number of steps. All that said- I would not trade walls, AC or a shorter walk in any of the other rooms for the Treehouse. No. Way. Now on to the good- or, fantastic. Imagine sitting on your very own private deck where the ONLY things in view are the surrounding jungle and the ocean. Imagine watching the sun set over the sea as the jungle breeze stirs, the birds chirp and the butterflys pass by. They've documented over 200 bird species at Rancho. Often while the glorious sun starts to dip over the water the clouds/mist start to roll in at your higher elevation. You can literally watch the mist unfoil and still see the sun and the ocean. This cues the night noises- all the crickets and insects, the breeze and the rustling leaves. Come morning you are awoken (sometimes rudely LOL) by the jungle awakening. Howler monkeys, birds of all kinds and the stir of a new day. It's breath-taking, stop what you are doing and sit in the deck chairs and watch the incredible scenery unroll every day. A heavy rain storm here is other-worldly. We actually skipped dinner one night just so we could stay in and listen to the rain hit the roof and watch the clouds roll by. If you can't feel peaceful or relaxed here you can't do it anywhere. The room is very large and had everything we needed. The bed is very, very comfy. There is a couch and a small table inside but we spent almost all of our time on the deck. Now- to the staff. I do believe you'd find it very difficult to find better. You'll be treated like family. The staff works very, very hard to make your stay the best it can possibly be. Andre works incredibly hard (!!!) for you during dinner service to ensure each evening is special in its own way. Chef prepares two different meal options for dinner- with plenty of breakfast and food options. If you are a "foodie" do not be alarmed by lack of choice at dinner. The food is very fresh, inspired, delicious and local . (This type of dinner service is also common in CR. The small hotels don't have huge kitchens. Roll with it) It's different every night and you will not be bored. We love CR and visit often but the food can really be hit or miss. Meals here are definitely far and above. Literally. You can gaze over Whale's Tail by day or the starry night over a candle-lit dinner. Sip a well-made cocktail at the bar and relax. Noelia, Sharon and Steven take care of you every day and every moment. Once you arrive here, take a very, very dep breath. Open your eyes and take it all in. You'll be very well taken care of. And you won't regret it.…
Rancho Pacifico was a dream come true! The views, the food, the drinks, the most amazing staff; it was beyond anything we could've ever asked for. We spent a week in the Treehouse Puma and we never wanted to leave! Our experience was once in a lifetime and we are already looking forward to our next trip back to RP. We could not speak enough on how wonderful the staff was and how they treated us like royalty every single day. When we left we felt like we were leaving family behind in Costa Rica. They showed us the real meaning of Pura Vida and we will forever be thankful!
Wow. Rancho Pacifico did not disappoint. We (well my wife) wanted a special getaway for our 42 anniversary and RP was the most delightful. From arrival to departure we were treated as royalty. By the end we felt like family; not just with the amazing staff but with other guests we met there. Some there for their Honeymoon others, as us, for an anniversary, and some just because this is a special high class hotel. The views, the on-site pool and hot tub, our cottage. Magical. If we visit Uvita again we will rebook with RP. BTW the meals were exceptional. Dinners amazing and we consider ourselves foodies. I don’t think anyone could be disappointed.
To celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary, my wife and I decided to travel to Costa Rica. After seeing the pictures of Rancho Pacifico online, we knew we had to stay there. Upon arrival, it was evident immediately that the pictures did not do it justice. The views of the jungle and Pacific Ocean were breathtaking. The staff could not have been more welcoming and friendly. We loved our breakfasts onsite and made it a point to make the daily happy hour to try the drink of the day. Based on staff recommendations, we took a mangrove boat tour, experienced waterfall rappelling and zip lined through the jungle canopy. It was incredibly difficult to leave this paradise, but we know we will be back.
After several vacationless years, my wife and I spent a blissful 10 days in Costa Rica. The country is magnificent. We especially loved our time at Rancho Pacifico in Uvita. There were breathtaking views from all areas of the private, mountainside resort. From the lush tropical vegetation, to the amazing Pacific ocean Parque Nacional Marino Ballena (Whale's tale National Park), as well as morning Toucan sightings, our time there was unforgettable. The staff were superlative, attentive, yet quick to intervene if need be. We enjoyed sea kayaking, a mangrove tour, a surf lesson, yoga, as well as soothing couple's massage. We can't wait to plan our next visit.
My wife and I spent our honeymoon here and it did not disappoint. The property was so professionally maintained and cared for; truly beautiful plant and animal life, but modern in it’s style and presentation. The service was outstanding. Such a professional, caring, and knowledgeable staff. Vianney behind the bar was exceptional and always good for a laugh (or 4!). Steven the manager, along with Noelia and Sharon, helped plan our trip with ease while making sure to check in on every aspect of our stay. We were in one of the treehouses (Puma), and woke up to the lush sounds of the jungle waking up for the day, with a soft hush of a waterfall that was at the end of our walking path. If you’re looking for a honeymoon with a flare for adventure (we went ziplining and snorkeling), my wife and I cannot recommend the treehouses at Rancho Pacifico enough. It was a truly wonderful experience. They are an outstanding group of people who we hope to return to and make more memories with in the future. Pura Vida!…
Hard to believe but it was even more beautiful than the pictures. Stayed here for our 30th Wedding Anniversary and the only thing I can say is, I wish we hadn't waited that long to visit. The villa was breathtaking. Tropical surroundings overlooking the pacific ocean was truly paradise. The villa had everything you can need and more. The staff was outstanding. They took care of every detail and made our excursions stress free. The food was also outstanding, every meal was thoughtfully prepared and presented beautifully. We don't usually repeat destinations but this one is worth a return!!!
