The rooms were average when considering this is billed as a resort setting. The views are great, and the wellness center seems to be the draw. Couple of notes: 1-Clean the filters in the bedrooms. When I look up and see an accumulation of dirt, that is a bit unsettling. 2- Call Jimmy Buffet, because his lost salt shaker is... More

Between the Danube and one of its tributaries, surrounded by tree covered mountains with granite faces sprouting out along the river, this hotel/spa sits on huge lush lawns, each room with river and mountain views that are breathtaking. Add in a pretty good restaurant, a nice swimming pool and clothing optional saunas and steam rooms and you are immediately put... More

Like others, we stopped here overnight on a bicycle tour. It is a very large resort with multiple simple rooms. Our room had a great view of the Danube. There is only one place to eat and that is in their restaurant which was o.k, not great. The bar is very limited with plenty of local beer and some wine... More

The hotel is placed in an awesome location. The eating area is beautiful as it offers tables on a balcony just on the famous Danube loop. The twin room I was staying in was very small and essential, hot (no air conditioning) and old. No wifi signal in the room, too. Didn't try the wellness area. The food was very... More

This hotel is very popular with cyclists, being located in the tiny village of Schloegen near the famous Donauschlinge (180 degree bend of the Danube). They cater to large numbers of people in a friendly and efficient way. The rooms are large and practical. Ours had not been renovated yet, but had a spectacular view of the Danube. The spa... More

Stayed here as part of our bike trip. It seems like this is one of the only two establishments in this town. At first were a bit worried about the lack of selection of local eating venues but were quickly assuaged after our delicious dinner (salad bar optional: hammered it.) In the day the room was hot and stuffy with... More

The room was practical, comfortable and spacious. The fare served was traditional, tasty and served with a smile. If you're cycling the Danube the hotel is idea, it has a safe garage for housing your bike and a short walk along the river is a campsite, which has a shop that you can purchase provisions. The only downside I found... More

This is pretty much a case of what you see is what you get. Beautiful location and generally clean, comfortable rooms with good facilities. We were cycling the Danube and were limited to the set menu and the "set" rooms, but there were no complaints from our group about that. Good, secure garaging for the bikes and a pleasant terrace... We stayed one night during our cycling trip down the Danube. This is a lovely stately old hotel, it's nothing new, however we liked the 'oldness'. Bring your swimsuit as there is a nice indoor pool. The place is abit of a 'rabbit warren' - but we didn't mind. The restaurant is nice with a good selection. We recommend the... More

This hotel we found ourselves staying in was on the loop of the Danube. We are on a cycling trip from Passau to Budapest and it was on our planned route. The initial experience was- "no you cannot get into your room until 2 pm". Granted we were early- but this is in mid May and not really a very... More
