I thought nothing could be worse than a flight delay. HELL NO, the worst is to arrive to the hotel and find reception closed and noone around although the touristic agency provided the hotel with arrival time information. Calling to touristic agency gave zero result, so i started calling the owner. 15 mins later she came, she was sleeping. She gave me keys and wifi password, so I went to my room and fell asleep. +: clean, comfortable. Good wifi. I had economy room on the 1st floor so no sea view of course but big balcony was great. There are a fridge and kettle in the room. Very close to beaches, Old Town, port and bus stop. -:VERY small bathroom with no curtain so if you take a shower all the bathroom takes a shower too. Room cleaning starting at 9 am (!!!!!!) when I was having breakfast at the balcony and they were checking if I am out every 20 mins so I couldn't even take a shower or dress without being disturbed. On my last day after i checked out and was waiting for transfer bus to the airport the owners were looking like I disturbed them taking a good seat near the reception.…
We arrived late afternoon and were welcomed warmly by a receptionist who spoke fluent English. She took them time to talk us through a map of the town and show us various sites and beaches ready to explore. To be fair, she was very knowledgeable and told us about various buses to different beaches etc. We then had a key to our room which was clean and well kept. We had opted for a budget room, as we were travelling for three and a half weeks and needed the cheapest option available. At £7 per person, per night, this was a real steal. We had access to a pool, our own private bathroom and a balcony. The only downside was the lack of air-conditioning but I know that if we had opted for a more expensive room it would have been available, so this wasn't really a problem. We were given a fan which cooled us down! The rooms were very clean and were cleaned everyday, and we had fresh towels and linen so were very impressed! A special thank you needs to go to the two receptionists, who spoke amazing English, because they helped us to book a bus to Istanbul. They took about an hour out of their own time to help us and we were very grateful for their help.…
Maybe we didn't have the best room but it was ok after all. Very clean, though it is a family business the cleaning is on a daily basis and they provide everything you need. The yard and the pool area are very nice, a place where you can have a pleasant and relaxed time and the wifi is ok. The hotel is well placed you have 10 to 15 minutes walks to the nearest beaches and to the Old City. We really enjoyed our stay there
Hotel Sofi had a great central location of the town so everything was quite easy reachable. The rooms were very well kept, cleaned every morning and tidied up. Staff was very friendly.Overall service I will rate excellent and definitely recommend this hotel to relatives and friends.
We (a couple) stayed 4 nights and found this place to be quite serviceable. Our room was on the street and had no air-con but temperature was not an issue and noise not too bad. The streetlights never went out however so this might be annoying if you need a dark room to sleep - request an off street room perhaps, they do have them. The balcony was large and pleasant, a good place for a nightcap. The receptionist was friendly, very helpful and spoke good English. We didn't use the pool as it was often busy and we prefer the beach, but it looked nice. Short walk to new town bar/dining street and beach and no hard trek to the old town either. A good option for a chilled out beach break.
The Rooms are very well kept. Great WiFi in the Rooms and it works really good. Pool area is quiet and relaxing. The cafe serves great homemade lemonade and frappes. It is relatively cheap for The Black Sea Coast. The bus station is near and the beach is just a short walk away. While in Sozopol I would recommend to pay a visit to Gloria Mar Restaurant because of the view and also to Kavatsite Beach in the southern Beach.
I was surprised to read a recent review saying this hotel was dirty...I assume their standards are maybe the Ritz... Hotel is a 5 minute walk to the bus station are and the bigger beach. It seems family run Speaks German and English Laundry costs 10 Lev for alot! Room was very clean, good balcony view, working fridge wifi worked well with ipad but not so great with phones in room, around pool it is perfect pool is small but clean and has 5 lounge chairs to use Clean white sheets and towels Didnt have the breakfast For unfit people, there are alot of stairs with no elevator (for budget hotel you should expect this anyway)
Nice and friendly place. I had room with sea view at last floor. View was nice but lack of elevator it's disaster. Wi-fi very poor. Even don't think about ordering breakfast. Untasty and not enough for me. 3-/5
We were quite dissatisfied with our stay at Hotel Sofi this year. The personnel (the owner) and the cleaners are unfriendly and unwelcoming. When we arrived, my boyfriend and I had to ask for additional towels as we were provided with only two. The room was not clean enough - there were some plastic folders of small packages in the drawers from the previous tourists that had stayed in the room and the windows to the balcony seemed not to be cleaned for a long period of time. Apart from that, we had occasional problems with the wi-fi in the hotel. The pool is rather small and it was full all the time so we did not have a chance to sunbathe there. My boyfriend mentioned that he had noticed some dead insects floating in the pool so I should say that cleanliness is not a serious concern for the hotel in general. On top of it all, in the reception area there was not a single sign at what time tourists are supposed to leave on departure. We presumed it was 12 o'clock noon (as announced in the hotel's web-site) but in the morning of our last day there the owner announced that we had to leave by 11:30 a.m. What our surprise was when coming back from the beach at around 10:45 am one of the cleaners told us we had 15 minutes to empty the room. The price of the stay is cheap (60 BGN or around 30 EUR for a studio per night during high season) but as we had stayed the previous year in another family hotel in Sozopol which is on the same street (70 BGN or around 35 EUR again high season) and there the price-quality ratio was better with utmost attention to quality. Unfortunately, due to late arrangements this year the other hotel was fully booked and thus we had to resort to Hotel Sofi.…
