This is a paradise, purest heaven, it has everything for everyone, for couples with kids, romantic couples, mature travellers. It is so unique, in its atmosphere, location, it makes you so special, it is one the best places I've ever been to
5 stars really? I don't think so. - Upon arrival - there is no possibility to park in front of the entrance to unload the bags. We had to carry all bags on our own (three ladies) from the parking lot to the check in/ room. - check in: clerk was friendly but short on information, had to ask. - room: thick layer of dust, sink in the bathroom dirty one bed skirt was dirty (brown and black stains everywhere) - restaurant: no reception, we had to walk after the staff to ask for a table. My 9 yr old daughter ordered "shopska salad", it was served to her with a hot chili pepper in the salad, which she ate by accident and caused a lot of pain and stress - no information on the menu, the waitress did not inform us prior or upon serving!... (the manager did not even apologize) - second restaurant closed for the season (Sept 6th) - check out: beware, they charge for the coffee pods in the room, which you make yourself in the machine and which produces a ridiculous half espresso cup of cheap coffee (2 lv) also, take good care of your key card, because if can't show it upon check out, you are being charged for it (10 lv) Overall badly disappointed! For a 5 star and priced as a 5 star hotel - this was a 2 star experience at its best!…
Very unkind and unpleasant staff, especially at breakfast. The apartment was very dirty. The bathroom and furniture in the living room was worn. It doesn’t mach with 5 stars hotel. I don’t recommend it.
Saint Thomas Holiday Village is a great holiday village and me and my family enjoyed our stay there. Lots of pools, the location is great, the view is OK (if we don't consider the construction work near by). We stayed in the hotel part and the room was OK. Yes, there was a little leak in the roof on the outside stairways, but that didn't bother us during out stay. The breakfast and dinner were excellent as well - lots of choices in regards to food. Yes, not something super fancy in terms of meals, but still good. I would love to go there again, even though maybe it is a bit overpriced.
We stayed in Aquarius 2 building. Unfortunately, we didn’t have a good experience. The room wasn’t cleaned for some period and we returned to the reception in order to solve this issue. The receptionist and the manager didn’t believe us and our pictures and only after some time they agreed to come with us and check together the status of our room. So together with 4 maids we went to our room and finally(after almost two hours) they agreed that we were right and started to clean the room. Around 5.30pm they finished. We were very disappointed about their behavior – first the room wasn’t cleaned, two times they didn’t believed a customer complaint and they even didn’t provide at least any excuse. It is very difficult to discuss with them at least in English. Customer service seems the last of their things to bother. Our room was far away from the 5* promised – lots of very used equipments, dirty walls, no cleaning for some parts of the apartment(even after the first day discussions). It is not very important but the TV and the Wi-Fi were not working either. The sofa was a killer – it is the first time I am complaining about it but it was a disaster. Bathroom was quite small and with not many space for a family with kids. It is a pity because the complex is quite beautiful – the landmark is spectacular, architecture is interesting, it is a nice place where children can play. There are 5 pools in the middle of the complex and a playground area for children(especially bellow 10 years). Children can also ride bikes around the complex(usually the residents bring themselves the bikes). They cannot exit the complex (there is a guarded gate where you can go in/out only with the hotel card) Inside the complex there are two restaurants and a minimarket(they have some interesting niche products like horsemeat and fig wine but overall they have only the basics). Parking of the complex is on the other side of the road. You can park wherever you find a spot(there are no marked spots). In the evening there is not much you can do apart from short walks across the complex. For everything else you have to take a car/taxi to go to Sozopol(15min by driving) or to the south(Primorsko) Beach – there is the beach near the complex(you have to go on a metal staircase). At lease on the closer side of it there are a lot of rocks so try to go a little bit far away. The water is deep at 5-10m away from the shore so the lifeguards are very protective – they are very careful that all the small children have an adult with them in the water. Another beach – accessed via an electric car that comes on an hourly schedule is 1km away(Arkutino Beach). This is the place to be – the hotel quests have free sunbeds, there is a beach bar and a surf school(ski jets, catamaran and some other beach stuff available) The water is perfect for kids – it is very clean and 30cm-1m deep for more than 50m. The beach has a BlueFlag certification and it is very nice. On the far side of it(towards south) there is a nudist beach and after that there is a path along the shore towards where the Ropotamo River goes into the sea. There is a wild beach there, you can swim in the River and the sea, a lot of seagulls and a nice view over the bay. Some cruises are coming from Sozopol (I think). You cannot go across the river on the other side without swimming so please be careful to take some kind of protection for electronic devices. Also please do not go barefoot. The path is easy to follow. You can go to/from the beach by walking(15-20minutes) or by renting a bike from the hotel. In some cases you’ll be accompanied by aggressive mosquitos. Food – we have the All inclusive package – food was ok-ish but not something spectacular. They have at every lunch/dinner some products which the kids love(pizza, pasta etc) Drinks are available in the package only at the restaurant and during lunch/dinner. At the bar you have to pay for the drinks.…
Price is relevantly high, the hotel doesnt offer as much as expected. Parking lot is small for all cars, restaurant is small for all guests although the food is delicious, the hotel seems a bit neglected. Room Cleaning was not on good level, one of the days nobody cleanes my room, the next one the towels were not changed, the shower g3ls were not refilled, so I had to complain. The hotel has two beaches, one of them is really close but the view ia terrible due to construction works, the other one is 15min walk and there is a shuttle every 30min,however the beach host is accommodating anyone who pays and there are no umbrellas for the hotel guests. The beach restaurant is great. So, in general, there were negative sides in almost everything - definitely not a 5star hotel.
Saint Thomas is a beautiful closed complex located on a rocky peninsula about 10 km south of Sozopol. The guests can enjoy swimming pools, an infinity pool and access to the beach. There are two restaurants offering both Bulgarian fusion and Italian cuisine. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We had great time there and I would recommend it as a great holiday place for couples and families.
Idyllic location looking directly out onto the sea with a private beach, beautiful grounds - very peaceful and relaxing holiday perfect for couples. Staff very friendly specifically the bar / waiting staff and Gregor who went out of their way to help and talk to us, even though they spoke minimal English. Food was fresh and we really enjoyed the selection, with a good variety each day. Spa was 5 star (even though we didn’t use) however facilities / entertainment minimal. We had a 1-bed appartment this was basic however clean and spacious. All inclusive only included beer and wine however didn’t bother us or effect our stay. Would definitely come back and the people of Bulagaria are lovely
great place for summer, multiple pools, restaurants. The apartment we got was really good. the location was perfect for us, suggest you rent a car as its far away from the nearest town but there are shuttles and taxis everywhere, everyone except for the people at reception where really nice and welcoming. Food was great breakfast, dinner and the Italian restaurant. All great. The beaches are amazing! Things to make better: Staff at reception are the most unhelpful, unkind and have been trained in the art of customer disservice, quite bad. The Sofa bed was really, really bad, if your children are more than 8 years old then they will hate it as its quite hard and just made up from muliple pieces without a proper mattress.Having said that my kids loved it and had the time of their lives…
++ spacious and clean room ++ quiet and overall good sleep quality + nice beaches, clean, umbrellas and sunbeds were included in the price; shuttle to the Arkutino beach, although the near beach is pretty much gone from the huge waves during the spring :( + delicious breakfast - pancakes and waffles freshly made; coffee station for fresh coffee + parking + nice playground for the kids + free beer and wine for dinner -- dinner was not various at all and the food was not good. Also it was too early for us to eat dinner before 20.30 - bathroom had mold and the showerhead had a tear in it - far from town and no night club, nothing to do after dinner +/- there is a mini-market, but it is too small and very poorly supplied
