The kindness, great touristic guidance, hilarious sense of humor, and fantastic culinary skills of the hosts made up for a shared double bedroom that was quite small by US standards. The bed was so "ah!" comfortable I slept like a charm. The bathroom in the room was a marvel of tininess, but water pressure was great--felt like a miniature spa... More

If you're looking to for a basic hotel that is clean and a good value, this is a reasonable choice. The internet works very well. The hotel is close to town, and the owner is a nice man who has your best interests at heart. I was not overwhelmed by the dinner, so I won't recommend the food there. But... More

My wife and I stayed here at the end of summer for a week-end. The room was clean, had an excellent view though the bed was a bit uncomfortable. The evening meal that came with the demi-pension was excellent. A choice of starters but none for the main course. That may be a problem for some but not for us.... More

Ax is a decent ski resort with good trees and easily accessible off-piste. Le Grillon was a nice surprise, room was basic but clean and warm with awesome views. Breakfast well worth it,service great, and at 46€ (breakfast extra) bringing my wife back here before the end of the season!

My husband and I stayed for 3 days at this hotel for Dinner bed and breakfast. The rate of 42 euros each per night was excellent value. Our room had beautiful views of the mountains and was just on the outskirts of the busy little town so we weren't disturbed by any traffic noise. When we arrived we were alarmed... More

We have just spent three nights on demi-pension at this hotel and thoroughly recommend the meals, the price and the service. Our room was clean and beds comfortable. We had fresh towels each day. The shower, however, in our room (No 12), was on the small side and anybody of large proportions may find the whole bathroom area rather restrictive.... More

We had a week in this hotel in Ax les Thermes, what an ideal base. The family are out of this world, so friendly and helpful. Robert is the chef and his food is superb. If you stay half board there is a choice for starter and dessert not for main course, children get main course and dessert. But you... More
