Booked this hotel for its position as it’s entrance is on lower ground level so no hills. The entrance is really quite modern and the staff are really lovely. The room was clean but very old, looks like something from the 60’s. Aircon in the bedrooms was a godsend and worked really well. Bedding clean and beds comfortable. We knew the rooms were basic but were still quite shocked at how old they were. Unfortunately the lifts broke 4 times while we were there and as I could not do the stairs because of ill health we felt trapped in our room, which was on the 10th floor. Luckily there are sun beds on the terrace which saved the day but it was still VERY disappointing and limited what we could do as we were always afraid that if we went out the lifts would no be working. Our door key’s stopped working nearly every day so my husband did the stairs at least 3 times just so we could get in to our room. We know not to keep the key cards by our phones so it wasn’t that. Another disappointment was the pool, we booked the hotel for the position and the fact it had a heated pool. The pool was FREEZING and we only saw 2 or 3 people go in during our 10 days. The pool in our usual hotel is definitely heated and this one was freezing compared to our usual hotel and I really missed dipping in and out the pool. Whilst we had a lovely holiday this is not somewhere we would book again due to the very old rooms, lift continually breaking down and freezing pool.…
Room was clean and spacious. Hotel situated in a great location for the beach or the central commercial zone. Rooftop pool and restaurant were great. Staff were very welcoming. Apartments were well equipped and in very good order. Beach view terrace was spacious and a great view of the promenade and beautiful beach. Room service was frequent, so ròom always felt fresh. Would highly recommend. Will be back
Fantastic place to stay, large balcony is a must. Great location, no Steps and very close to the Bars, Restaurants, shopping, sea, everything. The apartments are very clean, Brilliant pool, management great staff great, well recommend.
Currently staying here. Where do I start. In room 808 with outstanding views. Large balcony and comfy rooms. They have everything you need in them. No charge for Wi-Fi or Remote. Staff are fab, great reception area and very friendly receptionist no matter what time of the day. Hippo Dino 2 min away Spar 5 min away. Lovely pool with no problems at all in getting beds and umbrellas. Nice pool bar with reasonable prices. Fantastically close to the beach 🏖 and only 10 min walk to the main centre. If your thinking of booking that definitely do., we will 100% be coming back. My family are staying in different hotels on the resort and they have all agreed this one is the best.
hotel very close to the beach good service, incredible views from the pool with a very good restaurant with great service and spectacular food with good live music......best restaurant en Puerto Rico. A great discovery variety of fish and grilled meats
Currently here, really good location near the beach. Cleaners are frequent and friendly. Rooms and balcony is very good only bugbear is as a dad travelling with 2 teenage daughters they obviously had the bedroom in one bedroom apartment and I had to make do with the advertised sofa bed but it is definitely not a sofa bed it’s a wooden sofa where you are supposed to just remove top cushions and sleep on the 4 inch rock hard bit. No pull out bit with springs. Only really suitable for a SMALL CHILD, not an adult. Anyway poolbar restaurant is excellent with great staff and very reasonable in price. Wi-Fi good. Would definitely stay again if I had two rooms or a real sofa bed, if I had to sleep on the current sofa beds I would avoid.
We were the second guests to arrive on the day of reopening after the refurbishment. I have to say we were really worried when I realised we were arriving on opening day with 4 children aged 10 months -9 years old, but we really had no need to worry! Checkin was easy, never in fact saw another guest in reception our whole 2 weeks stay! We asked to upgrade to a room with aircon in advanced as TUI didn’t have this option and this was arranged for us on arrival. Our room was perfect, 2 bed apartment, plenty of space for our family of 6. Wooden cot in the room for our baby. Separate kitchen, small but everything worked very well and was very useable to cook a family meal for 6. (Rare for self catering) Brand new full size fridge freezer, good working hob and oven. Plenty of utensils and pans, serving dishes. kitchen and bathroom dated but very good quality and clean, never had an issue. Hot powerful showers, neber tan out of hot water even with all 6 of us showing in a row in peak times. The rooms had been freshly painted white and all the cushions recovered and new curtains making it appear more modern than the online photos, they need to update the website! everything you need for self catering, basic but it was Our terrace was what made it for us, it was absolutely HUGE! The referb was mainly installing all glass balconies over the hotel- and wow what an investment! Our terrace was The biggest in Puerto Rico for sure, and views to absolute die for! All of the terraces are very very large but ours was the largest I believe. We really felt like we had the best room in Puerto Rico with pretty much 360 views, we felt like celebrities sitting out there in the evenings. Very smug we had paid such a small price for this amazing location! 6 sun loungers and dining tables and chairs/umbrella on the terrace still with room for a football pitch! Room was cleaned daily bar 1 day, and bedding changed every 2/3 I believe, children had a few accidents and the beds were always changed when we asked. The location is just PERFECT. 2min walk to the beach and a 10 min walk on the flat to the commercial centre, or 5 mins round to the port. Lovely and quite unlike those nearest the centre. We were never once disturbed. Never once saw any bug in the rooms, terrace or hotel/pool areas. It was spotlessly clean and cleaners were constantly cleaning everywhere, every rail, wall, tile. Staff were always helpful- we asked to hire a travel cot or play pen and the man on reception leant us his own child’s one free of charge to use on our terrace for the 2 weeks. On the first day we asked for an iron and it was sent to us immediately and we were allowed to keep it for the 2 weeks. The pool was lovely, perfect for our family, again views to die for, with glass all around, 360 views. never ever had an issue getting sun beds at any time of day, even 5 in a row, and in school holidays. Lifeguard was friendly and attentive, always put up umbrellas for us and the kids and was helpful. No issues with people reserving beds or any thing like that like in other hotels. The pool bar/restaurant is privately owned and served fabulous food, reasonably priced but very good quality too, actually one of the best evening meals we had in our stay. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner here and all were great. I honestly couldn’t recommend this hotel more highly and don’t understand why it isn’t raved about more! It really is a hidden gem in the most fantastic location. We felt like we got an absolute bargain for what was a budget holiday! One of the cheapest hotels on TUI in PR but I really don’t know why as for me it’s the best! We stayed in the marina bay view before it was adult only and paid twice the price but this was better by far, in every way possible! I have traveled a lot and stayed in many higher rated hotels, and been dissatisfied and felt ripped off. We definitely got more than we expected at Rio piedras and would return without doubt.…
Large apartments, BIG balcony’s , nice views, clean and well maintained, close to the beach and port for water taxi’s , lifts if you don’t do stairs ! Friendly staff ! The guys in daddy’s restaurant at the pool made our holiday ! They all deserve a BIG. Clap !! X
Had a week here in October, fantastic large apartment, Huge balcony, perfect location and most of all the guys on Reception were amazing and helpful So close to loads of bars and great restaurants, 5 mins walk to the lovely beach Can’t wait to book up,again!
We stayed in this apartments for a week. And we had a two room apartment on the second floor. The apartment was lovely and we enjoyed the balcony very much. The area of the apartment is secure I would say. There is a gate that opens with a key, or you have to enter though the reception area. The rooms were decent clean; the kitchen could use a bit of an update, but was functional and we had a new fridge. The living room and dining area are furnished in Spanish style, but the cauch is of good quality as were the beds in the sleeping room. It is easy to get to the swimming pool, and yes you need to take two elevators, but the second one is only 50 mtrs wak from thefirst one, so no problem at all. The swimming pool area is excellent: enough sunbeds, umbrella's on demand, clean pool (we were there in February and the wather was not cold at all), and a pool bar with restaurant. We thought that the restaurant itself was a bit disapointing. But coffee and bar facilities were good. The reception staff was very kind, as were the cleaning ladies. We got an answer to all questions that we had, and always with a smile. There is a free safe in the room, and also a parking place is for free. And the best: you do not need to climb the hills to get to this apartment building!!! There is a supermarket just behind the building and a nice little restaurant just beside it. Both were used by us. We would say: yes we would go back to this apartment if we would come back to Gran Canaria!…
