The apartments are very well equipped including kitchen with fridge, water heater and all kinds of utensil to provide a comfortable stay.

Stayed here in may…lovely spacious apartments with massive balconies that were cleaned everyday except Sunday..the pool bar was great and very reasonably priced.. the staff are lovely and friendly. It’s a lovely 10 min walk to the commercial centre.. probably an hour to get back up but we got a taxi back every day for 4 euros lol…would definitely recommend the montebello and I can’t wait to visit again 😊

This place just never fails us. We came here for the first time last year and enjoyed it so much we came back for the 2nd time this year before our baby is due. All of the staff are so friendly and helpful. Rooms are spacious - contains everything you need for a self catering holiday. Bathroom is modern with a waterfall shower they even give you shower gel/shampoo. A television which you can get bbc1 and itv on. The balcony is where we spent most of our time, especially at night time watching over the business of Puerto Rico centre, it has a sun bed a table and chairs a parasol and a washing line. The hotel is equipped with a lovely pool and lots of sun beds and parasols. Next to the pool there is a cafe/restaurant where we had lunch most days and the ladies remembered us from last year which was so lovely! Maybe to return again next year with our new addition! Just back from a great week at Montebello, was very impressed with everything,from the friendliness of the staff,the cleanliness of the room and the whole complex spacious balcony with sunbed ,a great pool ( full time lifeguard ),on site supermarket,great, reliable wifi ( no extra charge ) in room safe,complimentary water , complimentary bottle of vino ( a nice touch )......cannot fault this hotel in any way,well worth a visit and very reasonable also .It was my first stay at Montebello but hopefully it won't be my last.

Really great budget hotel, clean, lovely big pool, great views, really good price. It would've been a five but feel it could do with air conditioning as got quite warm at night but we will definitely stay here again.

stayed here a number of years ago so decided to go back,from Luis in the reception everything was first class. rooms are clean and spacious pool excellent as well as the food and drinks even left us a bottle of wine cant wait to visit again many thanks

Had a 3 night stay here with friends. We had 2 apartments between us, one room 608 overlooking the pool and ours was 508 right by the pool with a large terrace, table and chairs clothes dryer and 2 sunbeds! Plenty of room inside the apartment for the two of us. Fab bathroom looks like new. My friend used the sofa bed in the lounge she said it was really comfortable. Maid service fab and all the staff were really friendly. Great pool snack bar, we ate there a lot. We didn’t have air con but slept with the patio door and window open even though we were on a terrace where people were passing so perfectly safe and not noisy either. I would imagine it would be too hot in the summer months. Free safe was a bonus, there’s WiFi but mine kept cutting out but none of the others had problems. Currency exchange at reception if the ATM isn’t working outside the hotel. Taxi stop and bus stop right outside aswell. We had a fantastic time and would definitely return to these apartments.…

After staying here as a child many years ago, I got the opportunity to return briefly. For the price, this was not bad at all. The apartment was clean, the beds were fairly comfortable and the huge balcony was lovely to have breakfast on with a lovely view over Puerto Rico. Upon arrival, there was a bottle of drinking water in the fridge. The kitchenette was also well equipped. Lovely hotel and great location.

Very good apartments, we stayed in a studio apartment firstly then upgraded to a larger apartment overlooking the pool with a super large balcony. This is up on the hillside on the sunnier side of the result but it is quite a lot of steps 215 in total, to get access into the bottom of the apartments then up to the pool level which is on level 5 then up in a lift again to gain access into the apartments overlooking the pool. The complex has a great resturant on site which is very good value and great food also a pool bar serving snacks and food again good value, and staff are all so friendly. Would return to this place despite the steps up to it on the positive side a taxi from the commercial centre is only 3/4 euros

Stayed here for 10 days over Xmas with the family & loved it. We used to stay in Puerto plata for years so knew of montebello but had never stayed before. Balcony size is fantastic. Modern apartments with everything you need. Lovely pool & lifeguard staff. No issues getting a bed. Lovely quiet pool bar with very nice staff & food. The restaurant also pleasantly surprised us with the best sole dish we had on the trip. Perfect for older couples who want a bit of peace & quiet on their holiday. Loved it & will be back again
